I bought some wheels and tires from 4WP a few years ago for my WJ. Their website showed both were "in stock and ready to ship" and that I could pick them up at the Reno store on Friday (I think I was ordering on a Saturday). So I placed the order. It took an extra week for them to arrive in Reno. Killed my weekend plans. :(

My last 2 orders were wheels for separate vehicles and I knew the manager each time. One order a wheel ended up on the opposite side of the country. Another order I had to call weekly and each call got a different answer. Yeah we have 2 wheels, no they aren’t here yet, well we have 3 but the 4th one is on backorder. It was ridiculous.

Google says the store in Lynnwood, north of Seattle, is still there. But the store in Langley, BC, is now called something else.

Last time I checked, though, the 4 Wheel Parts store in Lynnwood was atrocious. I wouldn't be surprised if TransAmerica had to sell the business because customers stopped coming in.

I'd never even notice if 4wp evaporated from the planet because I refuse to do business with them, especially for installation/mod work. Against my better judgment, I trusted them to simply replace a steering box in my 1980 CJ-5, only because I was pressed for time and couldn't get to it myself.

As you might imagine, a stock CJ-5 is about as simple as a Tonka truck, so I felt confident that they could handle it. When the Jeep was returned to me, it was clear that the box wasn't correct and actually interfered with my stock suspension. So...instead of replacing it with the correct part, they told me that they "adjusted the suspension" so it cleared the outer flanges on the still-incorrect steering box. I thought that sounded odd, and when I checked their work, it was clear that they had simply ground off a flange that was interfering with the suspension, and then painted it black so I wouldn't notice. Even worse, I'm certain they didn't even use a torque wrench because every single bolt was well below the prescribed torque spec. :headbang:

Since that time, I've become even more skeptical of any "four-wheel drive shop," as many are only good enough to mindlessly bolt on components with minimal understanding of geometry, weight distribution, balance, torque, tensile strength, and the list goes on. Many "techs" aren't even ASE certified either. Lesson learned...I should've just done it myself and would discourage anyone from letting 4wp get within 5 feet of their beloved Jeep.

Sorry for the rant, but just want to help our fellow Jeepers avoid the same poor service I experienced. Best of luck and happy Jeepin'!

I visited the store in OKC last year when I bought my first Jeep. Didn't buy anything at the time, but the counter people were very helpful. I'm finally back in the area with a list of things I want. Hope this store has not closed yet.

Apparently 4wheel parts has fallen off the edge of the earth. No one answers e-mail or phones. I will not ever buy from them again.
When you call their number - don't press 3 for your order status like the recording says - press 2 - you'll get someone in a few minutes. I had the same problem - never answer when you press 3.

Odd. I made a purchase in January from them. Northridge was out of stock. I got a phone call the next day to ask year and model of my vehicle. The reason? They had a freebie I didn't notice that they added on to my order and wanted me to get the right part.

Many are falling like flies and I am ok with that. As the crap shops drop, the better ones will fill the vacuum.
