Its been a journey for something as simple as buying a set of wheels. I originally ordered the wheels the first week of December, the wheels arrived the week before Xmas via UPS. I loaded them in the Jeep in the boxes and headed to my favorite tire place Radial Tire (been going there over 25 years), they were really busy (as usual) on a Friday and were having their Xmas party the next day, so the plan was to come back on 12-27.

Since I basically do camping, trails, and mud (no rocks) I decided to save some weight and cost by not getting the faux bead lock rings and 25 bolts, instead I bought some nylon M8 screws to use. Since I had a few days and bored I figured I would install the screws, only to find out that 3 of the 5 wheels were damaged during shipping. I can't believe MOPAR uses a styrofoam ring, and only on the beauty side of the wheel which breaks easy and the wheels had chips along the edges (perhaps UPS dropped them too)

So I recieved the 3 replacement wheels this past Saturday via FEDEX and they were fine. So back to Radial Tire today (they do first come first serve, so I got there an hour before they opened and was #2 in line LOL!). They use the Road force balance machine and all 5 wheels balanced nice with very little weights added, dead smooth at 70 mph. They did a great job as usual, and the cost for mounting, balancing including switching over the sensors was only $80, It should have been $100 (they charged for 4 wheels) but they laughed and said your a loyal customer no worries, who does that anymore??

The new wheels are heavier than the stock wheels, Fedex and UPS both indicated 25 lbs, I heard the stock wheels are about 19 lbs, those weights felt about right according to my arms and muscles. The Diesel didn't feel any different.

I like the look, they do have a little more "poke" than the stock wheels (7.5 vs 8 inches wide) so must be the off-set, as I can now reach my hand behind the spare tire (will be easy to clean), and I had to increase the length of the rubber stoppers on the back, I was able to fit the camera cover back on too. Glad the journey is over

Someone should make composite/plastic rings for these in molded in different colors. Then once they get scarred up enough, toss them and put new ones on.

Thanks, I put a drop of blue locktite on each bolt for good measure...

If I knew someone local to me with XR wheels I could pretty easily come up with some to sell out of nylon. I'd make them multi piece, not just one big ring, like the Terra Flex wheels have.
