So when should we expect to be able to order the 20th anniversary rubicon.

You know Jeep is thinking about it with this 20th anniversary Jeep beach edition.

I’ll be ordering asap when they say it’s available. Hoping and praying the Inca gold is available and it’s not too exclusive that my small town dealer can order one for me.

For a long time, Jeep has been strategically changing things to make current owners want to change their new Jeep for the ''newer one''. Wether it be for a color or model. So chances are that they are keeping it quiet and waiting for most to order their 2023 and will announce the 20A Rubi towards mid-year.

But don't be fooled like we were in 2013. Whatever that 20A is sporting as new equipment, will be repeated on Rubicons from then-on until the end of the JL model lineup. So if they don't offer that color you want, they might on the following year to make you change again and again.....

The most Important lesson here is to realize that it won't be a limited super special edition with one-off equipment. Except maybe the red leather like was the case with th 10A. But it won't be worth more than others re-sale wise because it's a 20A. So don't go throw all your dough on it.

I remember when the 10A came out there was a guy on YouTube who bought one and was glossing over how unique and rare it was and how it'd be a collector item down the road, then the following year they essentially turned it into the "Rubicon X" appearance package.

The 20’th anniversary Beach gets extra— hood decals, embroidered Katzkin seats, body color fenders, a Shifter Medallion and Gate Plate. WOW !!!!!!……….. don’t set 20’th Rubi expectations too high. ?
Rumor is 37s from the factory

There are also some rumors of a factory winch, factory air compressor, revised suspension and axles, and (hopefully but probably not likely) the "full tune" for the 392 that gives it about 15 more HP. If it does come out, it will come out at the same time as Jeep does a mid-season refresh. The front grill, for example, is going to be changed a bit from what we have today.

If the one-touch sky top is mandatory, I'll pass on it even if it has all the other things that make it different. I just don't trust those tops, and since I will have a rack on the roof, it's just not something that makes any sense for me.

If it doesn't get officially announced in January, then I'd expect the 20th Anniversary Rubicon to be announced right around Easter Jeep Safari at Moab this coming year, to be generally available starting early summer. The Jeep Beach editions for 2023 seem to have been announced a bit early, compared to last year, and I'm expecting a lot of the same parts to be common between the special editions, such as XR package, tailgate reinforcement and perhaps Katskin seats. Production of the Beach editions will roll right into the 20th editions.

It could be... From what I've heard, Jeep hit the brakes on it when the economy went to crap. There were a ton of plans for it (including extra cameras in the mirrors to give 360 degree trail views), but now they're worried that if they do an MSRP above $99k, they'll alienate the customers that are so loyal to the brand. Let's face it - Jeeps have a reputation for being awesome entry-level cars, and plenty of people buy them because they're tough, affordable, somewhat reliable, and have great resale values.

Personally, I think they'll have to trim off a lot of the things we want in order to stop the market from freaking out. At $80k, the 392 got a lot of bad press - but overcame that because it was a whole new vehicle and in a whole new league. A special edition package is going to have to be REALLY impressive if it's going to be accepted at above $100k MSRP.

If I were on the marketing team, I'd vote to ditch all the things that are only luxury or "nice to have" items. No one-touch roof, no special edition leather interior, no expensive standard paint, no standard upgraded door packages, and no sound system any better than what's available today. If people want those things, leave them as options.

Except— They don’t want a high volume “stripper” 392 bringing mpg numbers down. It was designed as, and will remain a PR, Bronco tool, until it’s demise, likely in a year or two. ( V8 just quietly dropped from 2 row GC) ?

given the high price of the 392, a 392 20th anniversary edition is not in my future.
