Just received a phone call from my salesman that my Jeep has arrived at the dealer today way earlier than scheduled, 12 days ahead of previous ETA (12/12). I am very excited that it came early, but annoyed that now my planned schedule for vehicle pickup is thrown off.

I hit one month in E as of yesterday. I didn't order any safety groups, I'm wondering if the half doors are the big holdup in getting it finished.

As someone who ordered half doors too I don’t like to see that. Mine should go into production Monday, hoping it doesn’t take even half that long.

I am thinking it’svery possible it’s your MOPAR stitched leather.
From what I understand the MOPAR leather is added after the fact, not like the standard leather seats. They build it with cloth and then in the body shop they remove the cloth seat coverings and install the leather seat coverings. This likely needs someone with more skill than just the guys who bolt on some steps or load up the trunk with floor mats or boxes.

Of course I think we have all learned you never really know what the hold up is.

It would be interesting to see the build process of a Jeep with dual door group. For optimum color matching, the (full) doors are painted while attached to the body. Once queued for the body to get trimmed out, the doors are removed and go their separate way to get the internals installed. They get re-attached after the body is mated to the chassis.
Are the half doors painted along side the body, or are they done at a separate area, to keep the pace of the work flow (?) Are the half doors fitted to the body in a similar manner as the full doors; prior to the paint process? Haven't found a video showing a build with dual doors. But yes, I’d assume that option is quite demanding to build.

That's a great thought, and I honestly don't know. I would also love to hear if anyone else has insight on the process. I just know that if I didn't include them in my order now I probably would never have them, and have never seen a new jeep on the dealer lot with both sets available for sale. Seems like you have to order them or buy them off someone second hand.

The half doors are built and painted elsewhere. Unfortunately this has led to some buyers getting poorly matched doors.

The fitting is up to us as the customer, so you will notice the torx bolts on the hinges are black instead of painted so that you can adjust them without damaging the paint. The one nice thing about this is the doors are fully painted under the hinges, so probably shouldn’t have the paint bubbling issue at the hinges like many are seeing with full doors which are painted with the hinges on.

After waiting 18 weeks I finally reached out to jeep chat. I'm SO excited I might get a generic email from a specialist claiming they're working on it. WOOOOO. Jeep really "cares" you guys!!! ???

My dealer rep now says that the Sky One-Touch Top is the culprit for my 392 build. He said their Jeep rep told them that’s why mine is now at 127 days and counting.
I saw one at Sam’s yesterday that I may have to settle for. I figure I could buy about 360 of these babies but the don’t have the 392 version or the XR. I’m gonna ask the Sam’s tire folks about putting 37s on em though.

what do y’all think?
