I waited about 6 months for an order of a different brand a while back, and more recently 1.5 year for a v60 polestar. The difference with jeep is that those brands set expectations of 6 months and “a little over a year” (during which covid hit for the v60 polestar) while jeep set expectations of “8-12 weeks”

I wasn’t unhappy with ordering from those other brands as a result - they were reasonably in line with estimates and communicative. Covid was obviously completely unexpected but they communicated well.

For jeep, I’m 30% longer than they estimated, and it’ll obviously be more since I’m not even building, let alone shipped. And yet, nobody can give me any updates on timing.
The lack of communication is certainly what fuels frustrations for most here. 8-12wks may be feasible in a best-case scenario. 3-6 months is more likely if you selected some of the higher-demand options. Constant supply insecurities furthering possible delays. Many of the commission based sales staff obviously will give you hopes of a speedy process, to get you to sign on the dotted line.
Since JEEP is continuously outselling their Wrangler production capacity, they’re not compelled to improve their communication practices with waiting customers (frankly, I see the Tracker as a cute feature, nothing further). The plant / zone reps are in charge of communicating with the dealer, and they do so. Your dealer is in charge to oversee your order and follow up, if it appears stuck for no apparent reason. Sadly some sales staff are not taking their obligations more seriously.

No. Mine went to TBD while in I also. It will be fine. You do have a couple of mopar parts, which means your Jeep has to go the "body vendor" to install those. From what I can tell, and this is just a guess, Jeeps that get TBD while at E status are getting it because they are having trouble estimating the time it will take to complete the installs at the body vendor. Mine took a while there, but I had a ton of add ons.

10:30-11 is the big window. Lately it has been spilling into 11:15 some times. And then, there are the days where it happens at a random time, like 3 PM, instead. Those are few and far between but it can hppen. Probably an error on Jeep's side. There is almost always a nighttime update usually between 7-8 PM. Those updates tend to be Arrival Dates changing to TBD.

Or you could just join jeeptracker.com and get an email when it updates instead of constantly checking. The site checks regularly for you (about once an hour) for most of the day, but in the 10:30-11:15 window it checks all the jeeps (which takes about 4-5 minutes for about 700) and then waits a minute and does it again.
Im on the tracker, lol. I even set up an alarm to go off when I get an update.
I guess I keep checking for fun. I can see my dealer has 2 builds going. Im watching them track close together, hope mine comes out first?

Yeah. It's not so much the time, it's the lack of communication that is the great failing with Jeep. Jeep Chat should be proactive rather than reactive. It should be contacting you weekly with not just the status of your build, but the reason why it hasn't yet progressed that week.

Put that obligation on the one that sold you the order. Jeep Chat is another cute feature. They have no further insight than the Tracker gives you. It’s a mere pacifier, making you believe you are pro active by communicating with someone.
The dealer is the single best source for answers on your build.

This is by far my worst car buying experience. I am hoping that my "2nd order" of this Jeep goes better than the first order earlier this year, but so far, the lack of communication from Jeep is on par with what I have experienced since my first order in July. Even when Jeep assigned a case # to my first order to "investigate" why the order never progressed and said they would get back to me via email in a day, I never heard back from Jeep. I don't think they care. At some point, a customer like me, who doesn't need a Jeep, will just say "the hell with it" and buy something else, and I am getting close to that point. Some communication as to build progress, or reason why a lack of build progress, would do wonders in making the experience so much better.

Day #64 post build, pending delivery...

Ok, change #8 to the delivery date but strangely enough, I'm liking this one.

I was set for 1 Dec 22 (7th change since 28 Sep) delivery but have regressed back to TBD.

Normally I get the TBD the morning of the day of delivery and then 10 days get added and it repeats.

Yesterday, no new 10-day window was added and I'm only three days into the lastest change/update so I have a feeling some human actually has possession of the vehicle on a transport, and perhaps next week the journey will end.

Never thought two days at TBD would be a hopeful sign :)

Wow do I feel your pain. On day 30 I was seeing other jeeps built after mine arriving at other area dealerships and then the dealership itself. Long story short, key FOBs were lost by the carrier and the dealership has been engaged to get it all sorted out. It's been interesting and frustrating. I'm at day 64 and I suspect I'm a week away from finally getting it. Jeep Cares was worthless; you really do have to get the dealership to escalate or determine the status.

Yeah I am going to have to push the dealership to dig in. I have seen others be built/shipped/delivered in the time mine has sat there to. There seems to be no rhyme or reason.

Yup. I'm in the same boat. I don't need a new vehicle, I have 2 perfectly good ones. The fact that they're shipping dealer's unsold orders before sold orders is mind-fucking. I'm sitting here ready to give these fuckers $60k and I'm being treated like I'm not important. I guess jeep doesn't care because the dealer, not jeep, will get stuck with the jeep if I decide to walk away from it.
