And that's where it gets a bit odd for those of us still waiting for D1 and a build date. I've had a VIN from the dealer since 8/3 but all trackers still list me as "C". So, am I in D with just a VIN from the dealer? If so, how is Jeep committed to building the order when their own systems still read "C" and the VIN hasn't populated in their trackers after more than a month?

Is this something the dealer is privy to that we aren't?
I think so I have been sitting in C since Aug 18 but my dealership saysIhave a VIN (he gave it to me) and also in D1.. He said this morning that it should be scheduled for build soon.. I think the trackers just aren't updating correctly.. So best bet is just keep checking with the dealer I think

but they are a dealer so they likely have info that we dont regarding the strikes.
The Stellantis strike is over though and I doubt they know anymore than the rest of the US about the potential rail strike.

Absolutely they have access to info that we do not. Mine shows in production since 8/22. Dealer said three weeks ago it showed it was being inspected. He “thought” around Labor Day it was shipped, but he was not at dealer to look it up on his computer. I tried texting him yesterday but he has not responded back yet to confirm where it is.

I have been very disappointed in Jeep for not correctly tracking my build. It is just not that hard to do and would make the waiting process much better. I give them an F in that department.

Yes. The dealer can see D status, but it isn't included in the tracker. C and D status look the same on the tracker, but a customer in D status can get the VIN from their dealer.

Yes, the dealers have access to all the Statuses I believe. Jeep chooses to publicly expose only: C, D1, E, KZ, KZM, KZX.

Back in 2011, access to all the statuses was publicly available. My tracker then would not only update people on the statuses, but even every movement of the vehicle once shipped. Things like Unloaded and the location. It was painful knowing it was sitting at some railyard lot for days waiting to be trucked to my dealer.

I truly believe that having a tracker is worse than not having one. If they're going to provide a tracker, it would be nice if it was updated in a timely manner. I don't "need" my new Jeep... but if you're providing a service, it should be a working one. I don't want to have to call my dealer ever.

Here's the last email I got from my tracker in 2011. You can see the level of detail I could access then (look at Vehicle Movement information). I would think dealers can still access this much info. Wish they left it open for us to track also.

Does anyone have any clue what Gate Out (under Event Description) means? My jeep is still in the lot waiting to be shipped and my dealer just sent me that update.

Oh, I won't be surprised if I'm still here 2 months later. I'm setting myself up for a 6 month long wait from order to delivery.

when i had my last wrangler built in 2007, the web software was such that one could watch their jeep being built at each stage in the factory.
Paint, add the motor, seats, wheels etc.

When the body and chassis were together, I considered that conception and went out and had a smoke afterwards ("was it good for you too??").

That home brew tracker doesn't distinguish D from C. If your dealership gave you a VIN, then you're in D limbo because the factory hasn't assigned a specific build timeframe. Basically the dealership has info that won't be found on the provided tracker, like specific steps in the building or transporting process. We're given bread crumbs.
