Folks
As a new owner of a 2022 Sahara I’m considering adding Eaton Trutrac diffs.
I’d appreciate hearing any experiences pro or con and what typical costs would be.
Thanks.

The Eaton True Tracs are probably the best limited slip out there. They behave very well on-road, meaning you probably would never know they are there. Off road you'll just drive through things 95% of the time without knowing they are working. When the terrain is more difficult, when they wouldn't otherwise torque-bias, you can give a little brake input and watch them "lock" up (as much as limited slips lock up).

If they were available for your rig, and you wanted the best aftermarket limited slip, there would be no reason to consider anything else.

Yes, that’s my understanding.
Hopefully it will become available for the JL soon.
Thanks

I had them in a TJ, and a Super Duty. Closest thing to lockers with great road manners.

Those as well as any other torsen type design won’t play well with the FAD in vehicles like the JL.

When the FAD is disconnected, the spiders in an open diff allow the axle shafts to spin in opposite directions so the ring and pinion stop turning. Won’t happen with a Torsen.

So unless you plan for FAD delete, and want your front driveshaft to spin all the time, selectable lockers are the way to go in the front.

I'd agree with this.

I run them front and rear in my TJ - they are great. I ran an Aussie Locker up front for a while, but I much prefer the road manners of the Truetracs - and I've never gotten stuck with them on flat ground (I tend to do a lot of playing in the snow, not really rocks or mud).

Had one in the rear of my WJ. Absolutely fantastic. Of course, all I do is talk about how great they are but meanwhile can't buy any for the JL. Come on, Eaton!
