I'm waiting on my JLU Rubicon order, and one thing I want to do this time around that I didn't do with my '07 JKU is protect the seats a bit better. I'm basically at the beach, in the ocean 200+ days a year, probably 150 of those with no top. So.....while it's stored in a garage, it's covered in salt, sand and wet a lot of the time.

So, in addition to Armorlite in the whole cab, I'm looking at Bartact vs PRP for seat covers, here's my questions (in order or priority):\

1. Temperature - I'm in the south, so the neoprene type seat covers are pure hell, I'm looking for something that won't get sticky when hot. That leans me towards Bartact.

2. Water-resistant/durability - Which one dries quickest and works well with being on/off wet.

3. Durability

4. Ease of installation

Cost isn't a big factor as I'm just doing the front seats and they seem to be about the same.

Thoughts?

I swear by Bartact Mil Spec seat covers. I had them on my JK, now on my JL. Waterproofing is pretty good. I once got caught in the rain and I just wiped the water off of them with a towel. I often get in my Jeep all sweaty after soccer games............and no issue at all with the seat covers. They "fit like a glove" so they are a tight fit and can be challenging to install. You just have to pull evenly on each side, little by little to get them on. Watch the install videos on their website and YouTube. You won't be disappointed with them! Mine are over 3 years old and still look brand new!

Forgot to mention, one of mine was a little too tight when I was installing it, a small hole at the seam (the stitching, not the material) opened up as a result, I sent them a pic, and they sent me a replacement piece, no questions asked. Their customer service is excellent!

I also have a Bartact winch cover and grab handles!

Somewhat related: I have leather in my Jeep, and while it's awesome most of the time, I also live in Texas, and it gets....swampy during the summer.

I've thought about getting a set of seat covers to use just during the summer - my Jeep is garage kept, so this is less about protecting it from the elements and more about keeping me comfortable.

Can you put these types of seat covers *over* the factory leather, and leave it on for a few months, without damaging the leather?

You could call Bartact to see what they say. I'm sure it's fine. And leather would probably make the install easier as well. The covers should slide over the leather much easier. Let us know what you find out.

I ordered Bartact seat covers on June 17. I sent an email for an update Aug 31, they replied with a "1-2 more weeks" delay and then nothing. I've sent 4 emails with no reply and got my credit card company involved. My money was credited to my account by the cc company, but Bartact didn't respond to their inquiry.

I really wanted these seat covers, but will have to find something else.

Bartact covers are great, just be prepared to wait, and wait, and wait some more. Mine took 16 weeks. The kings of communication they are not, email is a waste, call them and talk to them is better, but the lead time is long. Worth the wait i believe.

I don't know what you ordered, but I got these from 4wheelparts in a week. JL Rubicon front set only.

I ordered direct from Bartact. Like your covers only with red inserts. No one had them in stock at the time.
