It seems like there is always something that doesn’t go right for me. First with the shop that did the lift pinched the Evap wiring in the rear passenger shock bolt. I had to find there mistake. A big thanks to this forum as I really appreciate all your help with this.

After driving around on my tiny tires for a few months to make sure there were no more problems. I got tires ordered from a big chain because they were the only place that could get 285/75 r17 tires. They got them in a week later and I had an appointment to get them on yesterday. As they were installing they called me and said one of the 5 tires was actually for 18 rims so they would get one coming on Monday. Not the end of the world except I drove 50 minutes to Omaha for this. The real problem was when I got the Jeep back I checked everything and the tires on the Jeep were 285/70 r17!!!!

They have the right tires in the warehouse and will have them on Monday but super bummed still and I’m wondering if I’m cursed??

I have noticed it is difficult for companies to get competent employees now. It seems like companies have to take who they can get, so mistakes are made due to inexperienced employees. It just the way it is right now. Maybe if companies paid better wages, they could attract higher quality people.

I totally get that. Everyone I talk to is so stressed out and overworked. I didn’t take out any frustration on any of the employees as I think everyone is doing there best. It’s crazy times right now.

We might have a problem when McDonald’s is willing to pay more for flipping burgers that the Jeep dealer is willing to pay someone for changing the oil... ?

For a large tire chain being to able to tell the difference between 285/70R18 and 285/70R17...seems pretty fundamental to their job, doesn’t it?

Granted, the error could have been made by one of many individuals: by the the client-facing guy taking the order, by the warehouse staff loading up the tires, by the truck driver unloading the tires at the store, etc.

My bet is the client-facing guy took the wrong tire size order, and it all cascaded from there.

It could have even been the guy buying the tires. Maybe he accidentally said the wrong size. I'm just laughing at the number of people that would be bitching about the price of their oil change if the jeep dealer raised prices to cover increased labor cost.

The last time I commuted and had a cheap little Mini Cooper S for that commute. I didn't mind paying $100ish for oil change and tire rotation only because I didn't want to do it. But for that price, my car came back detailed and had a video inspection. I would happily pay for that service at a Jeep dealer... Instead I get dummies who overfill oil and then treat you like crap when you leave a bad survey.

Well, a lot of Jeep owners are already bitching about dealers being totally incompetent doing something as simple as an oil change...

When you get shit service, even $0 seems like too much money.

I’m thinking the mix up happened at the warehouse. When I got things set up they didn’t have any in town and ordered them from a warehouse in Texas. Now they happened to have 5 in the Omaha warehouse. Mistakes happen and even more happen when your stressed and trying to work to fast. All in all not really a big deal but I’m still bummed.
