Has anyone found a good cellphone holder for the JL? I found a aftermarket one that replaced the dash pocket for my JK.

I wanted one of these too, then realized that once I plugged my phone into the USB port to charge it, my Uconnect screen (if you have one) "assumed" its personality, demonstrating the apps from my phone it recognized, defeating my need for the phone to present a heads up display for me.

I stick the phone in the center console.

YMMV.

Good advice. I have also used the magnetic holder as I use Moto Z phones with a metal back.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Enjoy your Jeep. I am!

This !
Had this one here for my Mustang as the location worked great for it, and thought it would also be in the perfect spot for the JL, but with Apple Car play taking over, it ends up just being in the way...
Kinda wish that one of the 2 USB outlet wasn’t connected to the infotainment system and would just power my phone (so I could use Google maps over Plans, cause Plans SUCK BIG TIME ! Lol)

I used the MagBuddy by naztech. I mounted it on the flat spot to the right of tune/scroll button. It works perfect for me and easy to plug in for CarPlay. The magnet on phone is very flat and goes behind my rubber cover. It was $20 at Fry’s and came with two mounts & magnets.

This does the trick for me. Locking suction cup, extendable boom and quick release button. I mount to the left of radio.

Also if you delete the android auto app it will stop taking control of radio. Will still ask if you want to connect but one button to dismiss that.

Also if u are into android auto supposedly they updated the functionality this week. Haven't tried it myself yet

Those are....okay, i guess. Not going to hold up over time (or on trails). I've gone through a few and like those ones, they kinda work, but if you want an actual solution that is going to hold up over time and on trails, and not in the cup holder or clear over by the passenger grab bar, then you'll want to do this.

More expensive, yes, but worth every penny when you the best solution for this.

Including a couple pictures of my set up - the one on the left expands and collapses depending on the cell phone's size - is the best option by far for this - either the full rail if you want other accessories up there, or there just a one spot solution that goes in the corner for just a phone set up too

Natomounts are a great cheap option. Similar concept as the MagBuddy, but they can be adjusted to swivel.

Seat sleeve between seat and console and ran a coiled cord out of console and emergency brake boot using Android Auto. Working great after a couple minor bugs. Totally hands free, calls, text, navigation. So far impressed and no cord hanging out of dash.

I second 67 Designs. Looks like you have the whole rail mount system. I just have the phone mount and love it.

It’s $85 but the quality is absolutely insane. It’s extremely sturdy and the materials are very high quality. Install was very easy too. Definitely like where it positions my iPhone XS Max too. It’s close to me, out of the way of the windshield and away from the sun and vents. Really great.

I also try to record video when wheeling but found my old windshield mounted holder to be too wobbly so the video looked like crap. While I haven’t tested it on the trail yet, I’m pretty sure it’ll excel in that area too.

I keep going back and forth on these. I really like the way yours looks just wondering if the arms move around when driving. Do you think this would damage the dash over time? (70 degrees---are you kidding me?) Good post, thanks
