BTW, You can put your phone between the console and the emergency brake instead of in key holder especially if you have drinks. There’s a worthless coin holder/tray it sits in.

I use the RAM system to mount my cell phone, and keep it close to the USB ports in the center console so that I can use Carplay with the Alpine X409.

No, they are tight enough where they don't move at all. I have the resting on the dash, but if you were worried about it, you could put some sort of adhesive with a soft back (even just the soft side of a velcro dot adhesive) or something on the arm so it doesn't directly rest on the dash without anything in between. They don't move and I've wheeled with it on there multiple times at higher speeds and rockcrawling - check it out @AZONAJP on instagram

Yeah have been using RAM mounts for well over 20 years now. Ever since handheld GPS mapping became widely popular.

We use our RAM suction mount for 4K dash cam background smartphone recording plus on-screen GPX off-road navigation and tracking. In addition to a main smartphone in the armrest cubby for standard AA GM with calls and tunes etc. This dual removable system provides all the data and info we need on and off-road. As well can easily be moved for use in other vehicles and boats etc. Is a very robust setup with a ton of mounting options.

Saw this within the What Did You Do TO... thread, stole the idea, and ordered one. Comes with everything you need, utilizes two existing dash screws, and also works with RAM mount hardware. Has extra space in center of tray that is perfect for a RAM diamond base ball mount. I already had a RAM arm, grip, and diamond base with 1”ball, so this tray setup tied everything together perfectly!
