BTW, You can put your phone between the console and the emergency brake instead of in key holder especially if you have drinks. There’s a worthless coin holder/tray it sits in.

I have the resting on the dash, but if you were worried about it, you could put some sort of adhesive with a soft back (even just the soft side of a velcro dot adhesive) or something on the arm so it doesn't directly rest on the dash without anything in between. They don't move and I've wheeled with it on there multiple times at higher speeds and rockcrawling - check it out @AZONAJP on instagram

Yeah have been using RAM mounts for well over 20 years now. Ever since handheld GPS mapping became widely popular.I use the RAM system to mount my cell phone, and keep it close to the USB ports in the center console so that I can use Carplay with the Alpine X409.
