Does anyone else hear a hissing noise under light load (like 2K to 3K rpm)? This happens on my 392 Wrangler, whether exhaust is on or off. Sounds to me like it's coming from under the Jeep.

You must have gotten the "Eastern Diamond Back Rattlesnake" upgrade package. (Standard on the Sahara Snake Edition). This can be shut off with a sharp stick and accurate "whack"! (No change to the VIN number)

This post is completely useless. Until you tell me where I should hit my Jeep.

I was going to go with a cobra if you were in TX.
A venomous West African banded cobra is missing in a Texas neighborhood - CNN

Any chance you could have somebody rev it while you look underneath or is it only while in motion?
Very faint when revving - not sure it would be picked up by video. Unmistakable when in motion. I don't think the hissing actually goes away when I get beyond 3K rpm. I think it's more likely that the engine noise is drowning it out (which gives you a sense of the volume of hissing noise).

Intake sucking noise?
Sounds like it's coming from under the Jeep, not from under the hood. I hear it much more when the top is open/windows are down.

It is the exhaust. Don’t worry about it. Mine does it. Almost like very faint detonation except not in the engine. Just like the squeal when first starting. I have learned to ignore it.

Auxiliary brake booster pump. Heard it just the other day as I was trying to angle the unit over a high curb and into a rather small garage bay.

...whether exhaust is on or off.
I would be interested to hear how you can turn off your exhaust.

Whether in loud or quiet mode. To me the exhaust may as well be "off" in quiet mode :)

Here is a video taken from under my Jeep. I'm cruising at 30 to 35 and then when I give it about 1/4 throttle, you hear the hiss/squeal. Yours do this? Mine's pretty pronounced. It's the dominant sound in low RPM.

It is a little hard to tell from the clip but it does sound awfully similar. Mine is intermittent. Comes and goes.

I'm getting it checked out next week. I'm guessing the dealer will tell me it's normal but I don't think it is. When I'm cruising, top and windows down and give it light throttle, this hiss/squeal is the dominant noise.

In doing some research, there was a thread with a bunch of Scat Pack guys that had the same or similar issue. It was an exhaust thing for them.

Yep. What is really ironic is that mine was fairly prevalent for a while and now is rarely heard. Similar to the start up squeal.

How many miles you got on your rig? I only have about 500. Maybe mine will fade too.
