Besides the Jeep wave there is the awkward side pull up.
Jeep is new to me and this is my first summer, though I've had a convertible for 25 years now.
So anyway today I pull up to a Jeep on my left at the light it's top is off and behind the wheel is a 25ish blonde in denim shorts.... yea fuckin denim shorts... ?
So being the 50 plus gentleman I am I said "Hey I guess we have good taste in Jeeps"
She looked down from her phone and mumbled something ...I couldn't hear her over my heartbeat. ?

As my daisy dukes-wearing teenage daughter would say: Cringe-y!

Yep - old men like us are considered creepy if we say anything to females under 40…especially younger ones. We’re dead to them….we still think young but look disgusting to them….?

I wasn't trying to pick her up, I dont have the energy, but on a good day in the dark and shaved I can pass for 48 ..?
Besides I was just filling the obvious dead space ...two topless grey Jeeps at a light with no one else behind us.....

It's the old "half your age + 7" rule. At least as a starting point; it may go up from there.

I just say, "Nice Jeep!" and those that know what they are driving invariably give a Thumbs Up. One young lady gave me a Jeep Wave so she was definitely into her JL.

Sounds like a good Chevy Chase / Christie Brinkley moment to me. Best "pull up" line I ever heard was when I was driving my wife's Prius and a woman pulled up next to me at a light. She was driving the exact same model, color, and year. She rolled down her passenger window and said "wanna race?".

And then you made sure your dash camera was on, and gave her a really wide berth, right? She was probably actively typing a post about the creepy old (no, you're not) dude that just tried to pick her up. Gotta get the views! Much more important than paying attention to the road.

The best part about Wranglers is that it takes all types. The worst part is that it is *all* types.

Just couple of weeks ago I was driving about with the freedom panel off and a little dog co-pilot, and I had a middle-aged dude in a shiny new Snazzberry with his wife(?) in the passenger-side, aggressively pull up alongside on the left, only to give me a hundred thumbs up, whilst smiling and nodding maniacally. I gave him a big smile, a nod, and the shaka/groovy pinky-thumb, which he returned ten-fold. He then zoomed away with a huge grin, as the lady recalibrated her eyeballs. (From the rolling)

Then just today I made eye contact with a curly-haired young lady puttering through a turn-left-on-green past me. She could barely see over the dash. I gave her a big smile and high-five wave out the window and she returned with a peace-sign and a shy grin.

That was quickly followed by two cool dudes in shades coming the other way, with no doors or top, that saw, and turned their heads towards, my outstretched peace sign as we passed. We even made eye contact! No movement from them; just steely glares. Hope they're doing alright. Maybe they were just mad that I wasn't wearing daisy dukes. I was wearing an overall bib though.

Last jeep of the day, closing on sun-down, was a family with at least two kids in the back, softtop flipped back, windows down. Dad returned a tired peace sign.

Wranglers should be happy vehicles. Don't be discouraged whilst trying to spread the love. We certainly all need it. Especially now.

I'm teaching LittleDog to pop his head up to look at the right lane on command. Whenever I see a pretty lady, a pile of kids, or someone looking really tired. The best is when they just yell or motion happiness, instead of trying to snap a pic.

Maybe I'm guilty of speeding away when they pull out a phone.

But yeah, screw those people poking their phones at stoplights!
