Hi, Dealer Man. Rumor has it that 2-door production started, today. Rumor also has it that there may be a material restriction on soft tops and LEDs. Any info on my order, or am I still stuck in "D" status?

Hey OldGuy,
Hope all is well. Still D status, but should be changing over very soon. LED's have been on restriction, they are just available at a slower pace. Our 4 Doors got built with them but took a little longer. Still on pace for June arrival.

Probably something else I forgot (it's been 3.5 months, after all ;-)), but no smoker's group, auto, 2.0, hard top, or painted bits.

Ordered 12/23

Just got word from my dealer than I am scheduled to be built. He said two door production has started today, BUT the initial run is going to be the turbo model(like some of the rumors have been). It was stated that a time frame for the v6 has not been given so its probably going to be more waiting. ~Sport S with an auto and most of the packages.

Edit: well i asked for clarification and its still "D" so this doesnt really mean anything for me at this point :(

here is something interesting.. the 6 D1's we have on the order tracker spreadsheet all appear to me to be 3.6L V6. 8th digit is usually engine and they all have a G which matches my 3.6L order VIN with a G in that spot.

that doesnt mean those will go from D1 to mfg today or this week, but one would THINK that the vehicles getting D1 would be before the ones that aren't going D1 on the tracker. and i don't see any turbos on the tracker (2 door)....

there are several N digit 4 doors on the tracker, but 0/6 in the 2 door category....

Just received word from a person who works the line that the 2 doors have NOT started today. They were not given any new updates!

No your friend is not correct. My Info came from a very reliable upper management at the assembly plant.
I would not have posted a JL 2Dr start if I did not have firm Info.

Glad they started 2DR production. I wonder how many 2DR orders they have received. Seems like more and more are moving to the 4DR's.

Ralph2018JL, who is one of the six D1's, says his build date is April 19 (note that estimated ship date actually means estimated build date). That means that at least some of the initial six are not in the first build week. I point this out because it's still quite likely that 2.0T are being prioritized for the first week. Doesn't mean they're exclusive on the line, but likely have a higher proportion compared to the percentage ordered. I can see FCA preferring to debug the introduction of a new model and new engine at the same time rather than spreading that disruption out.
