Forum newbie here and I hope I'm posting this in the correct forum section. I am in the process of configuring either a Rubicon Unlimited or a Sahara Altitude in order to place an order. I'm leaning toward ordering the Sahara as I'm an old fart whose off-roading days are over. I had a CJ-7 for a short period of time in the early 80s before buying an '86 Toyota 4Runner (probably the best vehicle I've owned) and just want a Jeep as it most likely will be one of the last vehicles I'll own. Plus, it's the only SUV of this size I need/want that is available with a manual transmission (don't want to wait in line for a Bronco and I'd buy another Toyota if they offered a manual) as I'm a diehard MT person ...all the cars and trucks I've owned since the late 1960s have been manuals (learned to drive with three-on-the-tree :p).

Can somebody confirm for me, one way or the other, whether the "Off Road Pages" are included in the "8.4-Inch Radio and Premium Audio Group" option from the factory with the Saharas? I can see it specifically listed on the online configuration site for that package pertaining to the Rubicon but is absent on the same description for the Sahara. Both packages list the same price for that option at $1,895.

I've been attempting to go over the threads already posted about this topic but most are from 2018 and discuss the fiasco where the Uconnect was going back-and-forth as it pertained to including the feature when the JL was first introduced but so far, I don't think I've noticed any mention of it in recent builds. The consensus from back in 2018 seems to reflect that Saharas will not have the Off Road Pages programmed into the Uconnect 8.4" screen software from the factory ...but is this still the case?

If not included from the factory, can it be programmed in without too much of a problem? I get confused as I'm not that much of a tech person and I see that the Off Road Pages can be added by an OTA update, or using a thumb drive update from Uconnect, or something about a Tazer update, or from a "market" update(?), or the dealer might be able to update the Uconnect.

I guess what I'm hoping for is that it will be included in the Sahara with the premium audio package without my having to figure out how to add it once taking delivery. Can anybody who has a 2021 Sahara with the premium audio (8.4" screen) have the Off Road Pages included when they took delivery ...or did you have to figure out a way to do it yourself? The most intriguing feature for me is the ability to see all the engine gauges at once. But I think it was mentioned that the ORPs only show up when in 4WD ...is that true?

--attached images are screenshots of the description summary from the Rubicon premium audio package from the online configuration page where it specifically states that the Off Road Pages are included and the other is from the Sahara description summary where it is not listed. Both are the same price at $1,895, however.

Thanks!

I have a 2020 Sahara and I’m fairly certain I have off-road pages. I’ll double check in the morning. And post a picture of the screen if I do.

Thank you David and Cody, I appreciate the responses that certainly sound encouraging.

Does 4WD have to be engaged in order for the Off-Road Pages to appear?

If so, I guess the feature will not be that much of a benefit to me personally for as I say, I will mostly be wanting to use it to view the gauges at once while on a road trip during hwy driving where I obviously will not be using 4WD.

No they don’t. I’m in park currently, accessing them, and I remember accessing them while driving under normal everyday conditions.

Yep read your bio. Did the dealer do it or OTA update?

I have a 2018 as well. Take it into your dealership (assuming it is still under warranty) and ask them to do a software upgrade to add the off-road pages. Somewhere in this forum there is a TSB code for this. I did this for mine late 2018 and had the off-road pages added.

I could be mistaken, but I think ORP was originally supposed to be a Rubicon only feature, but it wasn't available when the JL debuted. It took well over half a year for it to appear on radios and by the time that happened, Jeep just decided to give it to everyone with the 8.4 after screwing up the launch.

You may be correct. I have a 2018 Rubicon with the 8.4”. But they didn’t give it to me automatically. I had to take it to the dealership 3 times before they figured out how to do it.
