It can be changed in D status, but it’s up to your dealer. I would contact your dealer ASAP to request the change.
I just called now. They said once a VIN is assigned, can't change it. Dealer guy, can you confirm this is true?

The dealer would need to contact the Jeep rep and get the change done. It can be done but your dealer will need to do some extra work. Please read this thread HERE where the same question was asked. You will see that it can be done, up to your dealer though in the end.

My dealer has called their FCA rep multiple times over several days with no return calls. Jeep guy: can you send me a private message and I can connect you with the dealership I bought from and you contact him to give him your FCA rep's contact info so he can resolve the problem (one-time favor)? I found out all dual top orders are being held up until mid May 2018 because the allocation priority for soft tops is to Wranglers with either a single top (soft or hardtop) so they can get more cars through the factory lines and to customers (which makes sense). I want to change my order to hardtop so it will switch to D1 now instead of mid-May. I was told 3 days ago it was mid-April, now it is mid-May. Next thing they will say mid-June.

I'm a gonna stay out of that one. Additionally, different areas have different reps. I may not be in your area. As far as the dual top shortage, I thought it was daylight savings this week that was holding things up...

Dealer Guy: There are several people in another thread asking this question: "Can the proximity entry option be added to the JL or is it only an original factory install?" If can be done after the fact (new handles, sensors, etc.), how much would it cost? And would a new key FOB be needed?

Great. I get punished because my dealer has a crappy FCA rep. Is there a number I can call to escalate this issue? I tried Jeep chat and 877-426-5337 and both have pre-canned responses and can't address any issues that aren't in their call center scripts. I guess "my dealer's FCA rep sucks, can you help?" isn't one of their scripts.

Chill. Cancel your order and find another dealer. Our @JLWF Dealer Guy is here to help guide us, not go to work for us. Seriously.

All dealers in my area have the same FCA rep. I wasn't asking Dealer Guy to go to work for me. Just asking if he could refer an FCA rep. Also, as some have already said in other threads, they canceled and order and the price jumped up when they re-ordered it. I shouldn't have to pay a lot more money because the luck of the draw and a bad FCA rep.

Well, certainly seemed like it when you asked him to basically play mediator with your dealer and FCA reps.

Next time I'll pass my questions through you first for approval before I post to the thread.

If you read this than you did not read enough. This price jump was because their first order was prior to the price increases on 3/01. The second order was after that.
