Even further, the full unicorn would be absolutely ZERO options. Has anyone here done that? That's some status.

My 2013 was close. Only options were A/C and 3.73 gears. Exactly what I wanted, at the time! The ONLY reason I got the A/C is because my wife owned a convertible and told me, I would want it at some point. She was correct (but don't tell her that). So, I was VERY close to ordering your Unicorn!

Nope, but not ordering a/c in Florida, is NOT an option.

Buy a new vehicle, only to do without? It's an indulgence to get a new one, why not get it the way you like it?

If you like it bare, you can always strip it down when you get it home.

Base Jeeps are pretty popular where I live. Once the two doors are available there will be lots of 23B Sports running around with zero options.

If I were to get one of those it would be as a secondary vehicle that I would just drive around town when the weather was nice or I wanted to do some light off roading and keep in a garage (so I would almost never have to put the top up). I had considered this for a while because a compact car and a base JL would cost about the same as my Rubicon did.

I understand that there may be parts of the country where A/C is not required. That being said, I don't see the appeal of ordering without AC.

I ordered a fully loaded Rubcon last week (manual, of course). I went with the steel bumper option. The only option I did not get was the soft top. I will always have hard top on or top partially off or top all off. I don't see the draw of the soft top when the real options are just top on (fully or partially) and top off. You can do that with just the hard top. Any way, I gave up my loaded 1998 Sahara (manual) in about 2000 when my son was born and I was getting a company car. They have been turning my head ever since. I decided to go with my heart. I have been married for 21 years; at least I get to swap out my car..... : -)

If you are always going without doors and a top, the AC isn't going to do much. I do love getting out like that, but you learn to keep layers and rain gear in the Jeep. lol

At least you can order a 2-door Sport with zero options (whatever floats your boat)...I still can't order Mojito! with a 2.0L Turbo and Premium Soft Top; good luck finding that on a lot.

Oh, don't worry, you're no more likely to find a true base model on the lot in coming years! Dealers stock profitable builds, since they'll sell every unit on the lot anyway..

Hahaha! Ain't that the truth. Like you said, nothing but loaded Saharas and Rubicons (with boring colors) on every lot...
