Will someone pls do me a huge favor and take a pic of the inside bottom of you driver (or passenger) door? I need to order puddle lights (like the black box you see on my example pic) for my jl and I don't know what ones will attach the best without a pic of the door! Thankyou!

I would imagine anything like that would bang around too much, and again only increase cost. And you are correct, most users never uninstall after the initial.

Well shucks! I’ve got mine in a bag waiting to install after getting the Lange Hoist-a-top JL adapter. I must be the strange one, as I constantly install/uninstall my JK spiderweb shade. Living by a marina, the summers can get a little fishy smelling. You never notice it until you leave the shade on with the hard top. Kind of retains the smell a little.

I reached out to Alien Sunshade and they plan on releasing their shades within two weeks for the JL's. They also stated that they do not expect to have a design that requires you to drop the windshield every time you want to remove it.

I reached out to Alien Sunshade and they plan on releasing their shades within two weeks for the JL's. They also stated that they do not expect to have a design that requires you to drop the windshield every time you want to remove it.

Exactly why I'm holding off a bit on some of the more popular after market mods. Even ACE is having some issues. I didn't like that windshield down to attach, the more looked at it. Companies seem to rushing a bit on their R&D, probably due to jeep not releasing any real JL info to these companies ahead of time. I've read that was so that people would flock to the Mopar add ons insted..

Installed a fuel door this past week. Took less than 30 minutes. Pretty easy except the plastic tab locks on the original fuel shield assembly were hard to release (and in a very small area with sharp metal inside the tail-light cavity). Think it looks great and makes side of Jeep look more streamlined.

Definitely give it a more finished look... that was the first thing I did to mine.

I agree. I’d be ok if I had to drop the windshield once to install brackets or something to connect the front part of the shade since there are no loops to hook onto anymore. But to have to drop it every time I want to add or remove the shade? No thanks.

I made the mistake of buying the Ace sliders ahead of time, but I don’t have my Jeep yet. I hope there aren’t issues with these sliders once I install them.
