This is what I coming up with.. the top has to drop behind the roll bar so it will lock.. .A full cover wont aloownthat to happen. I have the rampage tonneau cover now.. and even with that little material it wont lock

That looks great man .... I'm going to do a full cover and see if I can work out a hinge to fold it down for the top to lock or just strap the top down when it's lowered. Leaning towards full coverage to haul things on top of the cover too. Hoping its wide enough to put a cooler on top and strong enough too. I'll be finishing mine up Friday. Finally got my roof rack in and installed to haul wood

Yes! That looks really good. Appreciate you posting pictures.

Question - are either of you planning a vertical piece for behind the back seats to keep someone from getting access when the doors are off?

I was thinking of adding that .... i seems very simple to add as well. I just don't want to buy 2 pieces of wood. I'm not sure if I can squeeze all 3 pieces out of 1 4x8 sheet.

I'm either thinking of a vertical board or putting a d ring on the bottom and connecting something between that and the hooks for the baby latch system... with the latch system idea. it would still allow me to lay the seats down for long cargo if needed

I tried the rampage tonneau cover and it does lay down, but doesnt lock... I did strap it and it worked, but it does sit alot higher and reduces rear view. That's when I decided to make my own lol

Here's an option I posted many months ago. I used para-cord for the net, but eventually wanted to make one with light weight vinyl coated steel cable. I wanted something stronger than zip ties to tie it together, but never found anything that was practical, so haven't made a steel net yet.

I built a frame with PVC pipe to secure my home made, built to size net. The back piece is secured when the door is closed, you have to open the door and remove the back piece to get into the net.

Jeep Wrangler JL Best Option for Cargo Security w/ Top Off? cargo net empty 2

Jeep Wrangler JL Best Option for Cargo Security w/ Top Off? cargo net full 2

Jeep Wrangler JL Best Option for Cargo Security w/ Top Off? cargo net open

Jeep Wrangler JL Best Option for Cargo Security w/ Top Off? cargo net secured 2

I think Smittybilt came out with a new cover (at least I haven't seen it before) - I'm debating whether to make my own or to just get this one because the price isn't too bad. What do you guys see as the pros and cons of this?

The picture also shows an additional cover that goes over the roll cage and isn't part of this tonneau cover. One obvious problem is that it can't stay on when the soft top windows are in because this top uses the same body grooves to connect. It also seems like it wouldn't allow the soft top to close fully. What do you all think?

I think having the cover use the same spots as the windows is a deal breaker for me. I also am making me own rigid cover to haul gear on top of the cover. I think the cover is a decent alternative if you don't mind removing everytime the windows need to go back on.

it doesnt allow the top to lock either. that the same problem I had with the rampage. If you want that one, I will sell it for $50 plus shipping
