Resurrection: Jeep® Brand Continues Wrangler 392 Final Edition for 2025 Model Year

June 18, 2024 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - Don’t roll the credits just yet. The Jeep® Wrangler 392 - the quickest and most powerful Wrangler ever - is roaring back for the 2025 model year by popular demand.

“When news broke in March that Jeep Wrangler 392 was roaring off into the sunset, the comments, coverage and conversation showed us that the Jeep community isn’t quite ready to say goodbye to the V-8-powered Wrangler,” said Bill Peffer, senior vice president and head of Jeep brand North America. “Jeep brand listened and will continue the 392 Final Edition into the 2025 model year.”

2025 Jeep Wrangler 392 is the quickest and most powerful Wrangler yet, featuring:
  • Class-exclusive 6.4-liter HEMI® V-8 delivering 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque
  • 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds and the quarter mile in 13.0 seconds
  • Standard 8,000-pound-capacity Warn winch, 11.6 inches of ground clearance, 34.5 inches of water fording, heavy-duty rock sliders and more
  • Trail Rated capability in any condition with Selec-Trac two-speed transfer case, intuitive full-time four-wheel drive, heavy-duty wide track Dana 44 axles with Tru-Lok electronic locking differentials and electronic front sway-bar disconnect
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler 392 Final Edition will continue to offer much of the standard equipment found on the 2024 392 Final Edition, including:
  • Exclusive hood and fender vent decals
  • Black Nappa leather-trimmed seats
  • Specially monogrammed shifter medallion and swing gate plaque
  • Standard 8,000-pound-capacity Warn winch
  • Half-inch suspension lift
  • Heavy-duty rock sliders
  • Mopar fold-out swing gate table
  • Standard Xtreme 35 Package with bronze 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels and 35-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain tires
The Mopar triple loop grille guard and Mopar Jeep 83-piece toolkit will remain exclusive to 2024 model-year 392 Final Edition vehicles.

Production of 2025 Jeep Wrangler 392 to begin in Q1 2025 with orders opening later this year.

Well, if they will only stuff it in a SWB, I will definitely buy it.

Depending upon where we move next I just might get back into the Jeep building biz and start dropping some 392 in SWBs...I am running out of things to do in Life and sitting on a couch is NOT on my list!

They might as well make a JT version while they're at it.

I'm going to say that, against all other viewpoints that I saw on websites, I predicted this would happen:

I dunno. They refer to it as "hot-selling" but then they are going to end it? Look at the text:

2024MY Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 'Final Edition'.

Could be merely the final edition of the 2024 model year, to be followed by more in 2025.

If Stellantis has not themselves stated it's the end of the line for the 392, then I'd say this is not just a nifty sales promotion for the dealers but a sales promotion for customers who think they had better get in on the 'final' days.
And here we are. Cher's well-publicized Farewell Tour was followed by two more. LOL

Gee, Final Edition now has a new meaning - we will see how this goes and maybe do a Final, Final Edition.......

I read about the Final edition the day the press release came out. First thing I did was call my local Canadian dealer and said - Please order me a Final Edition.

He tried and was told he could not get one - too low volume dealer ( they became a Jeep dealer recently )

He called back and said he got his first 392 - A Silver Zynith - what color is the interior - Red - Hmmmm I did not like that at first, but I did like the winch and the silver colored hardtop that I hope will not leak. My 2003 Rubicon still leaks after replacing all of the weatherstripping - I would get 2 inches of water in the floor pans after it rains in Vancouver - which is a lot.

Oh well I bought it anyway simply because these were being discontinued.

Now I find out my dealer was allocated a Final Edition. They were unable to order the color and were told - this is what you are getting. Sheesh, talk about being held over a barrel.

Prices in British Columbia Canada are $180,000.00 including taxes for a Final Edition.

Yep, you read that right..

We have two tax thresholds. Once your vehicle is over $125,000.00 - we pay 26% of the full amount plus 10% of the amount over 100K. Nuts. You work your entire life to get ahead and then this happens.

Our exchange rate is 1.38 to 1 US Dollar - with fees it works out to $1.40 Cdn to $1.00 US

There is a small sliver of silver lining. I did get it for list - my dealer rep apologized by saying it is not his dealership and that is what he has to get for it.

So it goes.....

It is in my garage and it is a huge improvement in creature comfort features. However it is 5 times the cost of the last Rubicon that I factory ordered with all of the options available at that time - 2 tops and factory air.......

YOLO

At this point, this has to be part of psychological test of how much they can troll buyers before they either say "f that" vs drooling at the mouth Pavlovian style every time one of these final/last call/blah blah blah sticker princesses is offered
