This was a longer project than i was expecting at just about 30 hours. Im never doing that again but im happy with the outcome. Total cost was about $160 including the auxbeam headlights, total material cost was just 50$ and lots of time, had to take a wheeling break midway through. lots of pictures to show the whole process.

I had my worries about the quality at the start, but dang! Well done with the finished product!
thanks> yea it looked rough, plastic welding never looks pretty especially when you have the wrong style welder and no actual filler rods, just scrap cutoffs, but I get shit done in the end

Interesting.

Shame I wasn't the first one to do it, but at the same time I'm kind of glad I didn't do it now. Not really a fan of the look. I guess the JLs just look better with round headlights.

My only question is, how did you fit the square headlights and attach them to the round headlight fastener points?

For a time when I was thinking about doing it, I figured I would modify the aftermarket XJ headlights and the mounting points to fit and screw into the circular JL headlight mounting points. Is that what you did?

The headlight brackets and buckets came from a Nissan d21 pickup. They where nice flat brackets what I would weld too. I just made a couple standoffs with some bends to bolt to the stock mounting holes. I temporarily tacked everything together so I could move them around, to get them perfectly lined up. I still need to finish welding them and cleaning them up

I know it's not everyones cup of tea but I love weird

I love weird too. I think it fits well with your Jurassic themed Wrangler. ?:like::rock:

Who on Earth would go to all that trouble to make a one-off YJ grille for a JL just so it be more pop culture-correct as a JP Jeep!?...

YOU WOULD AND I WOULD!!!

Dang that is awesome. Very well done. Alan Grant would be proud ?
