Non Invasive Ham Radio (XPR5550e) Installation

I am very appreciative of all the info on these forums, which I utilized extensively in a recent radio install. I did I photo essay for a ham radio site to illustrate that utilizing schematics, researching forums and videos and some thought can make the project so much better and easier (frankly, I have seen some real butcher installs). So, to give back to this forum I am posting this in the hope it may help someone else.

The install was on a 2102 Wrangler JL Diesel. Please check the attached PDF, it is pretty detailed.

You can also follow it for a gmrs or cb as well, with some kind of remote mount control head. With a remote mount, you can also thread the control cable up the center console, then behind the dash and up to the top of the dash where many put a mount for other peripherals.

I've already got a GMRS radio mounted using the JL kit from Rugged Radios. Theirs is a really clean kit!

The Rugged Radio radio mount that attaches to the passenger footwell side of the center console does not allow passenger seat to slide all the way forward.

I mount my Yaesu FTM-500DR body under the driver seat, and I use a RAM Tough Rack using "C" ball brackets to hold an iPad Mini (for Trails Offroad app), and radio head and mic. Lots of ways to adjust things. I have a dual band antenna attached to my tailgate bracket, same as the OP.
