I did the same thing but the headliner I used was black. I did buy the mesh underlay in red for when the top is reclined. Hothead Headliners make really great stuff. Really quiets down the interior noise. Your headliner looks great!

Nice, so the main purpose of this is to make it quieter inside from road/wind noise?

Yes it does make it quieter at higher speeds, cooler in the summer because the cloth roof transfers heat, and warmer in the winter because the cloth roof transfers cold air. Its just added insulation. You need to be diligent with he installation, making sure every surface is clean to promote adhesion of the velcro. Take you time and you will have no issues.

Do all the 25s get the new soundbar redesign? I didn't know that changed. Even the 392s?
Thanks!

I believe the change was made to the entire Wrangler lineup starting model year 2024.
Thank you!

I guess I didn't think about that, but I bet with the side airbags, they had to redesign it.

Is the Sky One Touch + Hotheads quieter than the hard top? I have the hard top with liners, and it is still on the noisy side. Wonder if the SOT is better, worse or the same, as I'm thinking about getting a new JLUR soon.

Interesting question. I had a 2012 JKUR with Sahara wheels and one size up tires and full sound deadening on the floors (not the doors) and under the hardtop and it was really quiet. I think the tires made a big difference vs the stock Rubicon tires. My current 2021 JLUR with Baja Boss tires, under the carpet sound deadening, sound deadening in all four doors and extra weatherstrip around the doors and trunk openings and hothead headliners is really quiet below 65 mph. After that the wind takes over and makes some noise. I think there is really nothing else I can do to sound proof the truck but I am very happy. There is a lot of low speed resonance in a Jeep and the sound proofing takes all that high pitch white noise away. Your stereo will sound a lot better as well.

I changed my plush carpets to the Mopar thin offroad rubber matts right after I got my JLUR. I wonder how much of a difference putting the carpet back would make. I roll on KO2s. All my noise problems are wind noise (not engine or tire), particularly at 75MPH"+.

Did you find that carpeting made a difference to wind noise?

I do not think that heavy carpeting and/or sound deadening material will help with wind noise at 75MPH +. I have seen a video on YouTube that indicated less wind noise if you dropped the windshield and put more caulking and weatherstrip into the windshield frame. I have the One Touch top which is not too friendly to drop to the hood so I have not tried that. Sounds too good to be true but hey why not try it?

When I bought my new 2025 JLURX last month I expected the Sky One-Touch top to be significantly louder and colder than my 2019 JLUR hardtop (with no insulation panels). I was pleasantly surprised that it seems no louder, nor less insulated. The week I bought my Jeep in Iowa I spent a few days in Minneapolis and the morning I left it was -22 degrees F outside!!! Placing my hand on the bottom of the SOT felt no different than placing my hand on the cold fiberglass of the hardtop. I drove all the way from Minneapolis to Colorado that day and wasn't bothered by excessive noise from the SOT. It's no louder than my hardtop.

Supposedly for 2024 Jeep made improvements to reduce cabin noise including the use of acoustic glass and other insulation materials and perhaps this is why I don't notice any difference between the hardtop and SOT. The Hothead headliner I'm sure will help as well. I absolutely love the SOT.

I can see adding the weather stripping, but I'd likely not add that caulking. Those channels are normally not not included in the design for fun, but rather for water handling.

Well crap. If this is on the 2024s, I haven't noticed. Now I need to go out and see the difference between my 2023 and 2024s. Thanks for this.
