I skipped the JK entire evolution for exactly these reasons. My TJ’s turned into rusty trash. This JL might, but for now is pretty nice.

Those poor TJ's, they were never meant for the harsh abuse of the salty north. Every TJ deserves a nice retirement in the salt free southwest.

Never underestimate how irrational or stubborn someone can be.

I have had access to multiple YJ's in the past few years to take for free, and passed. Not worth the fee to tag the thing.

So square headlights are heresy but stretch the wheelbase and add two doors, and that’s okay? Jeepers that think this way need to get their priorities straight. At least the YJ was never offered with two wheel drive (cough ... JKU).

My first Jeep was a '94 Sahara in Pearlstone. I actually hated that color for awhile and much preferred the dark green Sahara, but started to warm to it when I never saw another in the same color. My Jeep had a Warn winch, light bars, upgraded Sony stereo and some other accessories that were added by the dealer prior to purchase. I actually got arrested in that Jeep 5 hours after signing the papers for going "muddin" on private property with a bunch of buddies.

I remember the Sheriff looking at the temp tags and asking when I got the Jeep & I replied about 5 hours ago, and he just shook his head at me (I was in high school) Turned out there were no signs or markers indicating the property we were on was private so the charges got thrown out, but that Jeep has led to 5 others over the years & probably more in the future.

Mine looked similar to this one but with different wheels, light bars, & winch. Side note - I always liked the way they integrated the step on these. Every model since the step has looked like an afterthought.

One of my high school buddies' parents still own their dark green '93 Sahara and the thing is mint with less than 50k miles I believe. I offered to buy it from them a few years back & they told me to pound sand I'd love to add a nice YJ Sahara to my garage at some point.

upgraded Sony stereo and some other accessories

I had an Aqua Pearl Metallic 95 YJ Rio Grande Edition and I upgraded the stereo as well to a Sony, then a Pioneer, then back to Sony, and finally a portable stereo. I gave up after people kept stealing the radio..... Door locks were useless with the half-doors, but I still miss my YJ.

My YJ was quite badass, stretched, with JK rubicon axles and a 360 magnum engine.

Well any of us JL lovers that have love for the YJ can make our JL look like it's coming at you as a YJ with this.

My first new vehicle bought on my own and first Jeep was a 1995 YJ, 6cyl, 5sp, blk, hardtop, alloys and air. Loved it. Sadly I sold it. But did buy a 1993 YJ Sahara green hardtop 5sp a few years after selling the 95. Wish I still had both of them along with my JLUR.
