Of course it’s marketing. But to say if they rebranded the F150 to a mustang I’d call it a mustang is false. I still call dodge rams, dodge rams! Regardless of how they’re marketed. They were dodge rams for as long as I can remember! Just because they rebranded to Ram trucks doesn’t change that for me. The broncos production was stopped in the 90s and picked back up during Covid in 2021! And when they picked back up, they named a new suv the bronco and made different models! It’s still a bronco even if it doesn’t have the same capabilities as a raptor badlands wildtrack Sasquatch.

As others have said, Jeep's marketing department could have easily called the stupidly wimpy Jeep Compass a Wrangler Something and we most of us would not accept it as a Wrangler.

The sport logo is so small and hard to read and the noodleheads here that have them call them Broncos without any indication that they are Sports. The logo should have been above Bronco and said "Not a". Ford clearly road the name just for marketing, but you are still correct.

lol, I talk to people about their cars far more than I see them. I'm an insurance agent.

If they were to talk to someone that had no idea about Broncos while they were standing next to it, they would think it was a Bronco Bronco.

I DO!!! When they call to add their new Bronco and I'm like "a Bronco, nice!", then I enter the VIN and it's a sport . Now picture your little sister talking to a Bronco Sport owner and they just keep calling it a Bronco. Poor little girl is going to have the impression of the Not a Bronco stuck in her brain as a real Bronco.
