Xtreme recon package flare removal

Who has removed the fender flares from their Xtreme recon package wrangler? How did you do it and what plastic rivets did you use?

I just did this to my JL a few days ago and although I like the look of it without the flares, I feel like there has to be a better way than to be stuck with fenders that look Like they have a million plastic rivets.

I am heavily Contemplating chopping the fenders as I think that’s my only option.

Just curious to see what everyone else has done.

Luckily with the Rubicon flares you don't really have to do any trimming since there are multiple pieces. A lot of people here have recommended the AAL and Quake LED kits. I plan on going with the Quake kit based on looks and lead time.

fyi the rivets that hold on those flares are steel, not plastic and it was not the easiest job getting them drilled off. Pick up some 6mmx30mm plastic rivets from Amazon and a plastic rivets gun. Cost me about 40.00 in total.
Or just do the fender chop.

the quake is exactly the kit I’ll be going with as well. Just need to decide on which fender liners I want to order. AAL has a pretty extended lead time but I do like the look of theirs the best.

Thanks. I heard recently they switched to metal rivets. I have a few rivets and gun, will probably pickup few more. I’ve swapped flares on my current Sport to Rubi’s so pretty familiar with the crappy plastic rivet guns ?
