No longer looking, I just purchased a ’21 Sport 80th Anniversary in Snazzberry.


Hi all,

I'm looking for a clean no stories JLU. I am in Texas but I have no issues with flying & driving back for the right one. Some of the requirements are below and I will update as I think of other things to add.

* Low mileage, preferably under 30K but will consider higher mileage depending on condition/maintenance
* Gasoline engine, either 4 or 6
* 8-speed Automatic
* Pretty open to color but no Black, Orange, Yellow, Electric Green, or Purple
* Sky One–Touch Power Top (preferred option)
* Cold Weather Group (preferred option)
* Remote Proximity Keyless Entry (preferred option) a.k.a. Front Door Passive Entry and Lock
* Body Color Fender Flares (preferred option)
* 8.4in Radio Premium Audio Group (preferred option)
* Steel Bumper Group (nice to have option)
* Trailer Tow and Heavy Duty Electrical Group (nice to have option)
* Safety Group (nice to have option)
* Xtreme Recon 35in Tire Package (nice to have option)
* Anything else is a bonus

I figured I'd start my search now but I am not in any rush, the Jeep will be for my daughter who is graduating from West Point this coming May and then won’t report until July/August. I generally keep an eye on the FS section, but if you are thinking of selling or know of a nice one for sale, feel free to let me know.

I just bought a new one a couple days ago but this is autotrader link to one I was considering and I think it checks alot of your boxes. Keep in mind i have no idea about dealer add ons etc you will have to message them to find out but the advertised price looks pretty good. I pretty much did the same thing you are doing I looked for about 3 months to find somthing that was most like what I wanted and in a price range I wanted. I can tell you that from watching prices on autotrader from dealers all over nation the prices started coming down with the cold weather not sure if thats because its a jeep and a better hot weather sale or because the 2024s are coming. Depending on your budget, of course, you might want to look at a new one, especially if you don't mind traveling to pick up. You get exactly the options you want, security/warranties of a new vehicle, and @Ratbert has a great list here to get a good no-haggle price.

@Blip - Thank you for the link, nice JLUR however it is missing the Sky One-Touch Roof that my daughter really likes. Not sure what to think of prices, I missed out on 2 local ones that had all the options I cared about, sold right away and asking prices were not cheap. Monitoring Autotrader and Cars.com, but also keeping an eye on the FS here since buying from an enthusiast would be preferred.

@ArcadeTracks - New is always a consideration but last resort. I (and she) would prefer buying used to keep the purchase price down and then do the mods she would like. And thanks for the congrats, much appreciated.

I just purchased an extremely clean ‘21 Sport 80th Anniversary. Snazzberry, 19K miles, 2.5” Metalcloak lift, Bilstein shocks, AEV Borah wheels with 35” Yoko Geolander MTs, LEDs front and rear, and a few small other things. It’s missing a few factory options I was hoping to get, but the vehicle condition, added mods, and decent pricing (IMO) all won and had me jumped on it.

The PO must have used a Tazer Mini or similar to turn off some features, so I’ll have to eventually get one. I’ll also be on the lookout for a Mopar front steel bumper and a satin black grill.
