I replaced the factory fairlead with a factor 55. This is the factory installed winch.

Did I get the wrong fairlead or should I cut this out to match the opening of the factor 55? Any recommendations on what to cut it with?

The first photo is with the factory 55 fairlead installed.
The second photo is attempting to use the Mopar fill plate, but I think it gives an idea of how much material is different between the bumper and the fairllead opening

It’s definitely going to be a problem if you try and winch at an angle. Is that the factory steel bumper?

Something seems wrong. I put an aftermarket winch, Openroad4x4 on my 24 and everything was completely normal. I could have used an fairlead without trimming anything. I used the Warn winch plate that says it won't fit the 2024.

read thru this and it explains the difference.....his came with the winch package which is a different winch than your typical warn winch.

My understanding from that thread is if it is a 24 with the factory installed winch, it has a different part number than previous years with the narrow or fair lead opening..

I plan on opening it up to match the standard opening. It explains a lot with other things I’ve seen with trim plates not working on this bumper..

I would love to know why Jeep thought it was a good idea to have such a narrow fairlead opening. seems like in a long pull you will risk getting the line bunched up on the drum. I am sure they have a reason but wonder what it is. yes either cut the bumper opening bigger or use the stock jeep fairlead.

I have never installed a winch myself so I am not familiar with the part of the winch that connects to the fairlead. Am I interpreting this conversation correctly in that the issue is with factory installed Warn Zeon 8-s winch (Which is a special design for Jeep) and not the design of the factory steel bumper?
I have a 2024 Rubicon with the factory steel bumper but NOT the factory installed winch. I would like to install an aftermarket Warn Zeon 10-s winch using the Mopar winch mount but not the Mopar fairlead. Instead use a fairlead from Warn or Factor 55. Do you think this setup would have the problem shown above.

If I understand correctly, the Warn winch made especially for jeep needs the Mopar fairlead, but a normal Warn winch would not work with the Mopar fairlead and would require a traditional fairlead. Is that correct?

Thank you,
Lynn

The Warn winch used on Jeep factory installs is a narrow spool winch. It's a lighter and smaller winch than you'd buy directly from Warn. So they can use the narrow fairlead - and need to - otherwise it might wind off the end of the narrow spool used on the Jeep factory Warn winch installs.
