I was looking at Bestop Soft tops for my 2021 Wrangler JL 4 door. The hard top has a door and a lift open window. The soft tops have a door. Do you need to un-zip or un-velcro the window each time for access?

There's the slide in gasket things on either side, then you pull out the tailgate bar and throw it over the top.

you can open the lower metal door without undoing the top.
if you want to get something larger in, you need to undo the lower bar for the back window from the body and undo the tabs on the sides of the back window to open it fully. No zippers or velcro involved in this though.

There aren't any zippers or hook & loop* on the JL-generation soft top. As mentioned, the owner would undo the retention tabs on both sides of the rear window, and then pull out the horizontal retaining bar, after which the window can be gently folded on top of the vehicle.

*There are two small Velcro patches (maybe 2x2" each) located on the top portions of the side windows, but they do little more than hold the forward edges of the window panels in place after they're refitted on the Jeep.

Appreciate the help. The soft top will be new for the Jeep, technically the wives, and I want to make sure I'm not making her life harder.

My average time to open (undo) or close (re-secure) the rear soft top window is 8 seconds. It's not something I do every day, or, honestly, would want to do on a daily basis. Were that the case, the hard top might've held greater appeal for me.

Hopefully things work well for you and the Missus. ?

It's super easy. Adds maybe 30 seconds to the opening and closing process. 3/4 of the time you just need to open the lower door to get most things in and out. You'd be surprised how often you didn't need to open up that back window.
