Was underneath my jeep this morning doing an oil change and I noticed this dried liquid on the ground.

I was able to trace the leak up the frame of the jeep on the driver front tire side up to the reservoir areas, but I’m not sure out of the three reservoirs which one it came from. My guess is the two closest to the front

checking coolant levels everything looks normal, they were just barely below the minimum level but they’ve been like that since I’ve gotten the jeep. I went ahead and filled them up to the max line and will just keep an eye on it

My question is, has anyone experienced the same thing or is there a common issue with these reservoirs? Could some potentially have come from an overflow port?

Not sure this is any help, but that looks like oil, not coolant.

Maybe hard to see in the photo but it has a pinkish tint to it. I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure it’s not oil

Hey,

I'm not a 4XE owner but I have the 2.0 which is what you have.

I had that beautiful pink/watery liquid under the rig a few weeks back.

It was my water pump. Nothing read low, there were not alerts or codes and nothing was running hot.

I had a mechanic buddy of mine look into it, and he sent me to the nearest dealership since it was well under warranty. 8100 miles to be exact.

You may want to check that out.

Good luck!

Where is the water pump located? Is it near those reservoirs?

I believe toward the front of the motor near the lower radiator hose.
I'm NOT mechanically inclined but I'm trying to learn a bit.
My friend assumed it was the pump and when the dealership confirmed it was the issue and replaced it, the problem was solved.

I'm hoping it is the last repair I need for a long while.
