I've wondered this as well. How to find out if there is a software update available that i don't know about?

When I chatted with support they expected a new update out at the end of this month or next.

Is it an automatic update, or do you have to physically download it on a jump drive then download it into you Uconnect?

Looks like map updates are not free or included during warranty and must be purchased. Is that correct?

As far as I know, they are not automatic and are not free. There has not been an update yet for mine though (also 2019).

That's the danger.

Uconnect updates should be over the air, and this has happened to mine a few times with no problems.

Map updates are not automatic, and there has not been a release for my model year yet.
