Yes. Both loaded up on inventory and overpaid and are now suffering as a result. I don't we'll see the offers now like we have in the past from these companies as they become more conservative. A lot of companies are freezing hiring or laying some people off now too in preparation for a potential recession.
For years Vroom and Carvana were run like a bar full of drunken sailors.

Executives were more interested in making Wall Street headlines than in flawlessly delivering cars to customers.

Definitely read a lot of horror stories on buying cars. I only used these services for selling cars and never really had an issue. It was a nice alternative to selling privately or trading the vehicle in to a dealer since the offers tended to be several thousand above.

what dealer was this for other guys to reference ?

as you pointed out, if you are getting a better trade in, this can compensate for higher purchase price and save the taxes
Sorry for the late reply.

It was Cecil Atkission in Burnet, Tx. Wes Tumey was the salesmen I worked with. His contact number is 512-756-1228 Ex 4163.

Just remember that anyone interested should mention they are from the "Jeep Forums" to maximize the deal on your part. Also after the numbers are given, they of course still honor affiliate discounts on top of the deal.

Also be sure to check if they still do everything they did for me as my order was almost 6 months ago.

what's the vibe on selling just now, and recommended dealer to sell to ? (apart from private)

Sold the 2019 Sahara in December 21 , and bought 2022 Rubicon, and now looking to sell it with 5,500 miles, as i plan to relocate back overseas

wide variety of quotes across the normal Vroom/Carvana etc - Carvana threw me $11,500 for my wifes Q5 that Carmax only quoted $8,500

Many are showing $42K for Rubicon, where else trade from KBB is indicating $43-$47K and private should be $49K-$51K

I sold to BMW in 2019

My Rubicon is mint - reckon it would be $54K Retail on a Forecourt

That might depend on the length of the UAW strike, doubly so since Toledo was specifically name-checked. There's a chance that this event could have an effect on Wrangler pricing trends in a manner similar to that of The Great Virusing.

For the sake of simplicity and expediency, you might consider accepting the highest offer from one of the car-buying services; e.g., Carvana or Vroom.

Thanks - i had a run round yesterday a few dealers

VROOM - around $42,500
Carvana - $42,210
Autonation - $44,500 (Inspected)
KBB guranteed offer - 3referred dealers - $45K with 1 offering to go higher on sinpection
Driveo - $44,500 with offer to match Carmax (INpsected),
Mac Haik - $45K (Inspected)
Carmax - $47K (INspected)
Give the the VIN - $44,000 - then $47,200 to marry Carmax ,

Last time around I sold (20 months ago on a 2019 Sahara) the individual dealers were offering more - BMW Autonation $47K , Mac Haik $46K, Car Max $45K

KBB guaranteed offer - which was $45K, came it at $47,000 on phone, and then pushed it out to $47,200 upon inspection (Demontrond Buick in Houston )

MMR - Mannheim Market Report on this 2022 is $49,200 (adjusted up $2k for low miles )

In answer to your original question, I would sell now. If we get hit by a stock market downturn (not even a recession) the buyers will vanish.
