I have a 2021 JLUR with the factory aux switches. I have some blue lights connected to the switch 3 wire in the pigtail in the engine compartment. I’d like to add another blue light to switch 3, but I’d like to connect it to the switch 3 pigtail in the passenger side footwell. I tried that yesterday and the light connected to the inside wire was constant on and not operated by the switch. Can you have multiple accessories wired to the same switch, but with some connected to the engine compartment lead and others connected to the lead in the footwell? Thanks for any tips.

I haven’t used my switch bank yet, so I don’t know exactly what you mean by a foot well lead vs engine lead. But you should be able to wire as many devices to a switch or circuit as you want if you keep the amp draw below the rating of the switch/circuit . You do need to allow for inrush current in you calculations. Hope that helps. If you have multiple circuit tie in points within a circuit it shouldn’t matter, as long as you’re not bridging circuits. An electric schematic would tell everything.

should be able. make sure you’re connected to the correct wire in the foot well as there’s also an ignition and battery wire. as i understand it, the ignition wire will be constantly hot while the jl is running and the battery wire will always be hot thus perhaps you tapped into one of these?

You can as long as you don't go over the rated amperage of the switch.

UPDATE: It can be done, of course. The key is being able to distinguish between a wire that is pink with an orange stripe (aux 3 switch) and a wire that is orange with a pink stripe (ignition accessory). I called in a wire color consultant (my wife, who is not colorblind like me, apparently), and all works as expected. Thanks for your input above.
