windshield sprayer

Hey guys, is it normal for the windshield sprayer to come disconnected?

Mine was disconnected and the water kept spraying under the hood.... I connected it and now water wont come out at all.... has this happened to anyone??

Hasn’t happened to me, but it sounds like your squirters are clogged and the pressure is blowing the hose off of the fitting.

look for a pinched hose or as some have found, a melted hose

Very uncommon from my experience as a mechanic for a week old vehicle... Maybe it wasn't plugged in good... But then you say it won't spray... Maybe trash in the system though they usually have a screen... More common with certain washer fluid, for example rain x is supposed to stop up the sprayers (per my customers in the past) though that's all I use and have never had an issue.


Very common here in the winter using quick lubes that mix their own washer fluid and it freezes due to lack of alcohol. For example the independent shop I used to work for used 1 5 gallon bucket of ethanol per 55 gallon drum. If it got below zero it would "gel". Not freeze hard but turn to slush and this would happen.

If you have compressed air, trying blowing it both ways to possibly free up a clog.

OMG my squirter has been clogged for about 4 years. Finally went to the Doc and got Flomax.

That and Viagra and you should be good to go. Not sure this remedy will help the OP but can't hurt. ?

Mine is weak, barely reaches the windshield. At road speed it will hit mostly at or below wipers. Couldn't find any kinks in the lines. Its new so may have them check it when I get oil changed at dealer.

Yikes... mine flows like an 18yr old. Sounds like something isn't right if you are talking about your '22.

Yeah my 2020 had good spray even at 65mph or so, this one is like a drunk 60 year old on 2022.

It was really bad during breakup went through a gallon or more.

This is how I handled it 90 to percent of the time. Reasonable air pressure flushing it backwards. If it happens more than once pull the motor and check the screen (never an issue with a JL but never had a newer car that didn't have a screen in the grommet or pump itself).
