Hi All, 2020 JLU Willy's...got hit in the rear bumper in a parking lot so attempting to upgrade the rear bumper with the Mopar 82215342AE steel bumper.

https://www.mymoparparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-off-road-bumper-82215342ae

it says that it fits but as you can see, the plastic end caps stick out past the fenders.

I measured my neighbor's Sahara JLU and the width of the bumpers are identical. However, her fenders are about an inch and a half wider which would cover the distance. i cannot find OE fenders or a model number to swap these out with. can anyone help? the local Jeep dealer cannot seem to find anything that would work.

thoughts?? Appreciate any, and all, guidance

You put a Rubicon bumper on a non Rubicon now you need the Rubicon flares to match it. Alternatively you might be able to just replace the end caps with the non Rubicon version. I'm assuming the bumper came with those Rubicon style end caps.

I guess when it says in the description that it fits my model, it just means that all the bolts will line up and not the fender flares?

if the suggestion is to put rubicon rear fender flares, do you happen to know the model? i am having a difficult time finding it. My local dealer hasn't been helpful nor can i find them on extreme terrain or quadratec.

since i have already purchased this bumper, i would like to stay with the OE fender flares if possible.

You are 100% correct. they came with the rubicon end caps...you wouldn't happen to know the model number of the non rubicon end caps? that way i don't have to replace the fender flares.

Thanks again...I just messaged him. I really hope all i need is the end cap. i really don't want to replace the fender flares and liner and broken tabs etc...
Yeah I'm pretty sure you'll be able to just do the end caps. Good luck with whatever you do and don't forget to update with pictures when you do :like:

Were you able to find a part number? I'm currently in the same boat as you.

For that steel rubicon bumper, they do make end caps. but, they are only a replacement end cap for that bumper and do not have a design that would accommodate the sport fender flare.

So, working with Benny, the options are to either put another plastic bumper that is OE to the build of the wrangler, find a aftermarket bumper which likely won't line up or look seamless either, or purchase, and install, the Rubicon High Line fender flares.

I placed an order for the rear fender flares. they have not come it yet, so i cannot say if that actually worked yet. but when they come in and i install them, i will post pictures and links that Benny gave me.

Unfortunately, for me, the bumper I purchased is the Rubicon steel bumper and the end cap model number you attached the link to has the Sahara bumper pattern. the top is the rubicon bolt patter for the bumper i have. and the bottom picture is the sahara pattern/clip attachment. Since they’re less than 20 bucks, you could always take a shot at making it work? I agree with your move to add the rubicon rear flares, but you’ll need the fronts as well to avoid looking odd (I.e., your factory rake will be accentuated by the high line flares)
