No issue with rubbing on easy to moderate trails. I've since lifted the Willys to be able to tackle some more technical trails and I am having no problem on those either.

MAD, did you have to do any wheel spacer for the lift? I've read the rear sway bar connections may contact the oem 7.5 wheel due the factory offset.

Yes, I have a set of 1" aluminum spacers from Bora.

I have a Willy’s diesel and I just put 35x11.50 on the stock wheels which are about the same size as the 285s and it fits with no rubbing with regular driving… haven’t been off-road yet…

Do you have any other pictures with these 35x11.5x17 tires? Also, did you upgrade the suspension, lift? They look like Toyo a/t3's.

I can take some of you want… all I did was put a 1 inch spacer up front to level it out but the tires didn’t rub without it… mine is a diesel so it sat taller…. They are toyo at3

Just had these 285/75/17 put on stock wheels. This is with a 2.5 RC lift.

Looks good! Hey, how much wheel well clearance do you got between the top of tire and bottom of the fender flare, about 6"? FYI, I got the same tires in a 35" with no regrets so far.

When I was in your position (replacing tires, already had 17" rubi wheels on my freedom) - I wanted the 285/75/17 but couldn't justify the increase in price compared to the 285/70/17 ko2 take offs. It was a huge difference in price once I found a nice deal on a local set of 5 tires.

Every time I start looking at 285/75 r17 I run into this. I would rather jump up to a 35in equivalent for that price.

35x11.5x17 is about the same width as 285/75/17 but a slightly larger diameter. I found that staying below 12.5 width avoids some of the suspension issues, as well. 11.5 is a good size to achieve 35" yet stay within the fender flares, no tire poke. I didn't want any wheel spacers either.
