Will This Hood Fit?

Jeep Fam,

I have a question. I’m purchasing a JL Mojave Hood and getting it shipped to my house.

Long story short, will this hood fit in the back of JL Wrangler with seats down in order for me to drop it off to paint shop?

& don’t give me the “why don’t you ship it to the paint shop” comments. Even if I do, I would still have to go pick it up and deliver it to the Jeep shop that’s installing it after it’s painted.

So will it fit yes or no?

Can‘t you measure your existing hood and interior to be sure? Or do you not have access to your Jeep?

Have it shipped to the paint shop (oops I said it), remove your hood before picking up the new one, and install the new one at the paint shop. Otherwise I would keep it in the box it came in and strap the box to your roof before trying to fit it in the back.

EDIT: Just use your darn pickup truck.

Nah …
I just didn’t want to do all of that. But apparently I need to act like an old head and get to measuring.

Most likely I’ll just put it in back of my pickup and be satisfied.

Which is why I asked if you didn’t have access to your Jeep. I was willing to measure for you, but now my feelings are hurt and I don’t feel like handing you thIngs on a silver platter. Let me know if you need measurements. I was a carpenter at one point in my life and after a while I got to hold the smart end of the tape measure.

I highly doubt it'd fit in the back, the trunk space isn't all that wide. If you've got a truck you'll be way better off. I'll ask what hasn't been asked, why not just install the new hood in the parking lot before taking off? Then you could have it shipped to the paint shop.

Side note - I'm jealous I'd love to do a mojave hood swap

Jl hoods should all interchange 2018-present, hope you're aware that hood requires different cowl pieces, as sits taller than standard or Rubicon hoods, somewhere on here is a write up with part numbers. Cowl pieces will need to be painted as well.

Post some pictures when done.

I think maybe the hood is shorter meaning you also have to replace the cowls/ A pillars...

I dont he means if it will fit on the Jeep but in. I was looking at this kit too and you do need new cowl pieces. - the kit comes with all you need to do a swap.

I doubt it will fit but we will see. Is it possible to just do the install of the pieces then take it to the shop after that? If not then its Truck time.. good luck

All JL and JT hoods are interchangeable.

If you want to get technical, width wise a JK Hood will fit, however it will be about 2 in too short (lengthwise) to match up with the grill.

If you wanted to, you can still attach a JK hood to your JL, however you'll have to move the latch points on both the fenders and the hood.
