Howdy folks,

25 JLU Willys. It seems as though I can either connect to WiFi OR CarPlay(witelessnot both. Is something wrong?

In my 2020 JT, I can use CarPlay and WiFi.

I'm not sure what you mean by WiFi - Are you trying to use the built in HotSpot in the JL?

Correct, I can connect to the hot spot in the JL. When I use CarPlay I lose the WiFi symbol in the CarPlay screen and my phone. This happens wirelessly or wired.

If I disconnect CarPlay I can rejoin the hotspot and get the WiFi symbol on my phone again.

it’s either or right now, very odd. In my JT I am on wired CarPlay and on the JT hotspot, no problems

Since carplay uses wifi and Bluetooth to connect it will prohibit you from connecting to a 2nd wifi connection (hotspot) sounds like when plugged in, your jeep is still seeing it as wireless carplay while being charged instead of wired carplay.

Ok, started over again with Bluetooth. This time I did not allow wireless, only CarPlay via usb. That seemed to provide a solution. Now I can use CarPlay AND stay on the JL hotspot.

Thsnks for the info.
