Which year/engine combo for a Grand Cherokee?

Hey all, I know there’s a bunch of you who also own a GC. My brother is looking to buy a used one and is asking for help. Which model year and engine combo would be most desirable? While I LOVE my ecodiesel, I don’t know if I’d recommend it for him because his wife will be driving it a lot when he’s on deployment. She’s got her hands full with the two little kids so worrying about the quirks of the diesel may not be a good idea. Or, should the Gen 3 still be on the table?

Which model year and engine combo would be most desirable?

2011 - 2022 with the 3.6.

There were 2 facelifts during that time frame:

• 2017 - 2021 WK2 (4th Gen) Facelift 2
• 2014 - 2016 WK2 (4th Gen) Facelift
• 2011 - 2013 WK2 (4th Gen)

My wife had a 2011 and a 2017. Both were her daily haulers. Fantastic vehicles with no issues for either one during the time we owned them. Unfortunately, the new 23 model year is way over priced for what you get and she's moved on to another brand.
