Where is the tire sensor at?

I have a 18 JLUR, ive put Gladiator wheels on my Jeep that I bought with 35 inch tires. For the spare I'm buying a matching tire tomorrow. I'm going to have to remove the tire sensor from the original spare to the new wheel correct?

The TPMS is integrated into the base of the valve stem.

It will look like this (generic photo, not necessarily a JL TPMS):

Find where your valve stem is poking out of the outer lip and you will see the TPMS portion on the barrel of the wheel.

Well, there are 3 sensors on the chassis that monitor the 4 TPMS Sensors found on the 4 tire (rim) positions.

Info from the 3 chassis sensors is transmitted to the Wireless Control Module. There is no need for a 4th chassis sensor as the computer uses the process of elimination to determine the fourth tire location.

Yes, your JL/JLU knows exactly which rim is where, usually within seconds of a tire rotation for example. Yes, It's all done automatically.

There is a TPMS sensor in the factory mounted spare but it is not read by a chassis sensor/ considered by the computer until it is placed in one of the 4 tire positions.

@other's that may buy JT, pull offs..

While JT's, again JT's, do not typically come with a TPMS in the spare, some in fact do come with a TPMS in the spare.

IF, if the JT shipped from the factory with the upgraded wheel package, then from what I understand, the spare then will in fact have a TPMS in it.

So, dependent on the pull off's that you purchased, the spare may even have a TPMS in it.
