Yes, please, pics would be great...it is so fun to be able to think about these things, better than thinking about how long it will take to actually get the Jeep, haha
I'm one of those people who research things A LOT....I like to know things ahead of time, like vacation plans, for example. I research for many months in advance and I love it!
I have taken a few pics that might help you decide on color, if not on the style of lug nut and locking lug nut you want. If you go black remember to never use an impact on them, any scratches to the surface will cause rust with your salty Michigan roads. Good advice I found on the forum was to use a 4-square or speed wrench (like in the photo), and place a plastic (ziplok) bag between the nut and the socket.

Also, your stock rubi tires will pick up small and medium sized rocks at low speed, then launch them into your hinges and fenders at highway speeds. You will cringe each time you hear it, and you will find yourself bailing out as soon as you stop to see what damage it caused. As a result, the first thing I would get for your new Rubi is front mud flaps. The ones you see in the photos below are RokBlokz, but any front flap will do. The front RokBlokz install so easily that you could install them when you pick up the jeep, and never have to worry about your hinges again (you will have enough to think about trying to keep it under 45mph for the first 60 mi :)). The rear RokBlokz you see in the pics aren't really neccessary (for your protection), but if you go that way let me know, and I will give you tips to install them while keeping your fender inserts in place.

If someone is gonna break into your jeep, they made that decision long before you inconvenienced them by putting a wheel lock on. Even as a new jeep owner I know not to leave anything of value in my jeep and i often don't lock the doors, because they are so easily broken into. I surely wouldn't leave $200 in there, which is what your spare is worth (at a minimum).

Sure wheels are covered by your insurance, but do you want to waste one of your allowable claims on something you could have prevented for $125......how much is your deductable?

I get wheel lock keys suck to keep track of and use, but an unprotected spare can be taken in a matter of minutes, and losing your spare is much more of an inconvenience. You can always hide key or zip tie it to the frame.

Again I am not attacking anyone's choices, we all have to make the best ones for our specific situations and geography, but an ounce of prevention goes along way.....it goes even further when you dealing with low life thieves who are looking for an easy score.
When I go to high risk areas, I have a combination steel cable (bike cable) securing my spare - again just to try to encourage the thief to move on to the next Jeep. But with a combination cable there is no lock to hide, lose, etc.

P.S. I have nothing against wheel locks, I was just pointing out the downsides. As you correctly said, different circumstances, different owner choices.

That's very smart, I wouldn't have thought about that....and it is way cheaper!

You are absolutely right, its not about prevention, so much as deterrence for the lazier bad guys. If you ever watched the lock picking lawyer on youtube, you know there is nothing ever truly secured. Cheers mate.

May depend on whether you made sure the standard dealer package was excluded. Unfortunately it normally comes with super expensive green valve stem caps and a GPS tracker.
I'm going to trade those green ones in for Firecracker Red ones!!
