Wheel Backspacing & Tailgate Bump stops

I’m getting Method 701s 17x8.5 put on tomorrow and just considered the 4.75” backspace/0 offset causing a gap from the tailgate bump stops with stock 285s and stock carrier. Anyone have this same set up? Did you buy something like quadratec/energy/daystar extensions? Don’t want a DIY fix. Also, did the rear camera bezel still fit? Just worry about the wheel/tire weight stressing the sheet metal on the gate.

Teraflex alpha carrier should be able to move the tire back to the stock bumpers!
Also I think they make spacers now and if its not them there is someone just forgot who. You pull the old ones, use spacers and cut the tit off the bumper then use a bolt and well nut to attach to the tail gate.

Alpha Carrier is in the list. Just need a cheap temporary solution

This is expensive e unless they sell the spacers separately. Other wise another 150 gets the carrier. You can use the carrier without the reinforcment piece.

I have to Mopar Reinforcement kit and it works with the Teraflex carrier (per Teraflex). I just feel like a beefier carrier is overkill for a stock tire when all I need is $20 bump stops.

I know you said you don't want a DIY solutions but a 1 1/2"- 1 1/4" plumbing coupler slips over the existing stops and extends them perfectly. 5$ each at Home Depot.

I put a couple of these on her JL after we got a set of Mayhem 8015's on 35" RG's. Stock carrier with factory tailgate reinforcement:

And I went with the Teraflex carrier on my JL with a Mopar beadlock accessory wheel and a 37" KO2. I really like the fore aft adjustability. My tire is closer to the tailgate than hers and you get the rubber snubbers right up against the tire.

Not sure why you're opposed to a DIY fix, they work great if fitted properly, this on a 17x8.5 +0 on a 295/70/17, doesn't budge and looks just fine!

I used energy suspension. Cut to fit. It’s perfect. Had to shave the nubs down to fit into the tail gate holes. Easy enough with a razor

A 1" pvc coupler covered w/ a stool pad (got a pair of them at Ace hardware for like $3). IIRC I had to cut about a 1/4" off the coupler to get that flush fit, which is what I needed to keep the fit tight, but not too tight.

Method 703 +25 offset and KO2 315/70R17 here… engages stock spare tire stops properly. Actually tried longer ones but they prevented the spare to seat onto the carrier.
