Ok. Noob here when it comes to Jeep wheels and tires.

I want to swap my wheels with something else, wanting to have a different look.
Current wheels are rubicon recon wheels with the factory BFG K02s (285/70R17), wheels I want to go with are the Rocktrix 17x9 wheels.
My question is, can I have my tires swapped to the new wheels? Or will they not fit and I need to get new tires?

Should be fine, just need to get the proper offset. If you have a Rubicon you can get by w/ more positive on the offset (since the axles are wider), up to a +25 will work there. If you have a sport/sahara you need to go a bit less positive, like a +10 thru a -10 range to allow for inner clearance when flexing suspension or turning full lock.

Yeah I’ve got a sport. Off-roading today, I heard a little rubbing at full lock and some when flexing. Wanted to change them out anyway, so now I have an excuse to tell my wife ?

I was planning on going with a -12 offset, they have either -12 or +12. I eventually plan on lifting it and putting 35s on.

35x12.5x17 on a -18 offset on my 19 sport. With a -12 you’ll have just a hair less poke.

awesome. Yeah I’m trying to get wheels that should be good with my lift when I get it. Clayton off-road says 4.75” backspacing and the -12 at 9” wide is 4.5” so I should be close enough.

That -12 will be perfect for your future plans :like:

Yeah, gonna try to get the tires swapped then go to 35s once I get a left ?? Probably can sell the rubi wheels for a good chunk of what the new wheels cost too lol.
