Bought a new '21 Sahara 2 weeks ago and I hear this strange warning/alarm right upon startup without any indicator lights. This Jeep has the advanced safety feature which my '18 JLU did not so am wondering if it is just part of that? Really weird - any thoughts? THANKS!

FYI - you will notice it after i click on my seatbelt in the vid below. It's towards the end.

I don’t know for sure but I can’t imagine any vehicle would have an alarm like that right out of the factory. Did the dealer add an anti-theft system or anything like that before you bought it?

No - nothing added - all stock. I am going to take it in but thought I'd check with everyone here first since most people on this forum know more than the service folks at my dealer ;)

Will do - just sent note to my dealer as well. Guessing I'll have to bring it in but will let everyone know what this is.

It's an aftermarket anti theft alarm. The dealership should have removed it. It sounds like they didn't pull the whole thing out.

I would bet a 12 pack that you’re correct. This HAS to be something aftermarket.

If I'm right, the ground is disconnected. Be glad it isn't connected, they're screaming loud when installed correctly.
Lovely. I suppose that would make sense since they drove this up from another dealer in IL (wasn't on my goal dealer's lot). Means a trip in for service which shouldn't be a big deal but the service mgr is a real piece of work. He's more interested in checking the tire tread than listening to whatever problem you might have - NO exaggeration! I won't leave there until I can talk to a tech.

THANK YOU for the info here! Will reply with the formal diagnosis.

No, don't leave until it's properly uninstalled.

If you bought the Jeep brand new my question would be why in the hell is there ANYTHING added without your knowledge?
Dealerships sometimes install alarm systems to new vehicles on their lots to hinder theft. They usually pull them out when they've sold the vehicle. Looks like someone didn't complete this last step.

Ahh, that makes sense now.
