My first guess is usually a dealer installed tracker but commonly on the drivers side. What’s under the tape on the black box?

Looks like an inline fuse holder, pink fuse & all.

Pink is usually 4 amp, as the number on the fuse itself will confirm.

OP: You're not the original owner, we'd guess? If so, do you know what electrical accessories the prior owner(s) installed on the vehicle?
