...they track me know without a tracker and kind of bugs me.

I was messing around on the Jeep app and found it has tracked every single drive I have ever done.
How is that possible? Via the Jeep app, or via the Uconnect head units that have over-the-air capability/connectivity? Just curious.

I have no idea. I not renew my jeep app after the 4 month free subscription and do not have nav. but when I opened it thinking I was on badge of honor it opened and has a section that says All Trips along with Service and Maintenance and I clicked on it and sure enough all my drives from long trips to just pulling out of my garage onto the drive are documented.

I have one also. I do recall that they charged me a $500 non negotiable fee when I picked up mine And the fleet manager said. “You can’t opt out “ it’s a safety thing… it’s a black box … I told them ok whatever. I’ll remove it at some point. Then after 6 months or so when my free xm subscription ended. They were desperate to get me to buy more. They would call me almost every day. To get me to sign up at some point I got offered $15 xm radio subscription for a year !!!! For the entire year. I thought. Hmm. It’s not for xm. They can no longer track me or my mileage and stuff
And sure enough on my u connect and Mopar dashboard. The Milage is still from well over 1.5 years ago. So it had limitation I believe lol

Wish I knew that was an option. I wonder if I that stuff is removable. I have never used any of it.
me either. did not know that was an option to reduce the price.

I would put the tracker on a rental that would be funny.

Definitely a GPS tracker the dealership put on. Used to work at a Jeep dealership in LA and we had something like that installed in all the cars. Couldn't start the car without the app

I'd ping the dealer and see if they want it back. Tracking cars on the lot for theft prevention is a thing and I'd have no problem with that; I suspect like others they simply forgot to pull it out when they delivered your Jeep. There was another thread here about one that caused their Jeep to not start so pulling it is likely a Good Thing. But no reason to add to the dealer cost (and thus ours) so I'd return it next time in, or let them come and get it.

Toss that shit straight into the trash. If you found it by accident how long do you think an actual thief is going to take to find it? The people who agree to a 1-2k fee for this when buying their vehicle are being scammed so hard they don't even know. I see them daily here in so-cal. The inline Y connector ones break DLC port communication all the time too, that shit's so annoying.

So, in my three day old '24 Willys I see a loop of a wire bundle hanging left of the brake pedal. Snoop around and this module is there. It's connected to the OBD port and then has a pigtail with an OBD plug to the OEM OBD bracket--which is a poor fit and doesn't clip into place.

I'm wondering if this is a legitimate Jeep module, or something the dealer added.

If you have financed some or all of your vehicle purchase, it appears that at least some finance companies will have this put in as a requirement of the loan for an asset that is theirs, until you make the last payment. If this is the case for your situation, I imagine it would be written into your finance contact. Possibly a fee for the module in your finance that might be refunded after the term of the loan payoff has been completed. I surfed the net and came up with this interesting read -
