Is it pronounced Four Ex E or Four By E?
Personally I prefer Four Ex E

Since you're Canadian you should call it the "four by eh?" Then ask someone if they've seen your swimmers, cause you need to relax after working hard on a pro-ject! 😉

There's actually no way to translate it simply or directly from the original Italian. The closest translation would be "too expensive for what it really is or how it can really perform as what it's supposed to be."

Which makes sense, I guess. You pronounce 4x4 "4 by 4", not "4 ex 4".
Well, that depends; if you were a Bronco owner, you’d say “my truck is sixteen...”

You have to know that Four By E is just going to get shortened up to Four BYE. Either way it just doesn't sound as eloquent as Four Ex E ... at least to me anyways.
Besides, kind of commemorates my Ex wife !!! ... LOL

Even after hearing different Jeep reps call it 4-by-E, I still read it in my head as 4-ex-E (think I've only ever mentioned it in conversation once or twice, and still 4-ex-E).

I call them 4 x e, shrug, just the way it translates in my mind. Never really considered 4 by E.

But 4 by E makes sense now that you guys have brought it up!
