Extreme newbie here. So don’t laugh. I have a stick suspension JLUR. I’m getting ready to add either Fox 2.0 Reservoir or 2.5 shocks to it. I do mild rock crawling. Anyway, I know that will give the suspension more travel. My question is do I need to replace my bump stops, to keep my 35x12.50 R18 -12 offset wheels from rubbing the fender and any other problems or just leave it alone? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Shocks won't give your suspension more travel, just better/more controlled shock absorption. To increase your suspension travel you"ll need taller springs and the associated parts to accommodate them (to keep your alignment proper and to allow for that extra travel). If you want to add shocks before going w/ a lifted suspension be sure to allow for the extra height by getting the proper length shocks so you won't have to replace them again when you get taller springs.

If the shocks you buy have a longer extended length than the stock ones, then you will get more down travel. (With Sway bar disconnected, etc) This may mean they will allow the axle to droop farther than the stock springs can keep up with and they could become unseated during extreme articulation. Limit straps can help here if you really need them.

Again, if you get longer shocks, that typically means a longer shock body. Which means you may be able to have a situation where up travel is limited by the collapsed length of the shock instead of the bumpstops as is intended. In that case you would want to add additional bumpstop. Somewhere in the neighborhood of the difference in shock body length.

if you are not wanting to lift, just get a nice shock that is close to the stock shocks in collapsed and extended lengths and you won’t have to worry about it.
