I have the 8.4 Uconnect in my 2019 Rubicon. I think the audio system is ok, but wish it was better. However, I'd rather spend the money on other mods. But let's say I spent around $500-$600....are there any worthy upgrades at that price point...speakers? Etc. Not looking to spend too much, not expecting a whole lot either.

Speakers without an amp won’t do too much to improve the sound. Actually might make it sound worse. You can add a powered sub for pretty cheap or a small amp and 10” sub and box for around $500-600.

Honestly, you neeeeeeeeed a dsp amp for aftermarket audio to be worth a damn.and unfortunately they cost a nut.

Replacing all of the 3.5in speakers is an economical way to get a little bit better sound. I believe with the 8.4 in the rubicon, you already have the alpine set up. I installed kicker speakers using splice connectors to the stock speaker wires. Once I figured out what the hell I was doing, it took very little time and sounds a lot better.

Yes, the 8.4 is the Alpine setup. Is that what you have? What Kicker Speakers did u go with? I'm just looking to improve the sound quality a bit. Don't think the stock system sounds that great. Maybe, I need to invest more $.

If $500 is your budget, just get some wireless Bose headphones and turn your Jeep stereo off
lol I got some more important mods that I need to get for my current setup. But I figured if there were some decent speakers that would make a slight difference then i would swing for it. If not, Ill just wait and put more money into it. Was hoping there was a $500-$700 upgrade worth doing if expectations werent that high. Im just not too impressed with the stock 8.4 alpline sound quality.

Alex,

YOu're gonna have to save up if you want an improvement over the Alpine setup. If you had the base system then just replacing a few speakers helps A LOT! In your case you have to do a complete make over to get better than what you have with the upgraded audio. The problem here is the Amps are just so dang expensive.

I was afraid that would be the answer lol Ill put more money into it eventually, but its not on high priority right now. Just like to plan ahead. The stock system is bad at all, but its not that great either.

His Jeep came with an amp and a alpine sub. It's not the standard trash stereo.

You could sit in my Jeep and use my stereo. :CWL:

Alex, best thing to do is just save until you can get exactly what you want which will require a decent capital investment but the results are worth it.
