Weird Software Glitch on ‘24

Hey there. Long time reader here. First time post. Also my first Jeep. Am running into a weird issue where the radio controls will stop working on the Home Screen. The tune knob, as well as the steering wheel controls, will stop working sometimes though I can still change presets. If I switch to the Media page, everything works fine. It also works fine for a while if I reset the head. Wondering if anyone else has run into this. Thanks.

My 24 JLU does this on occasion. I mainly see it when I put it in reverse and the camera comes up. When try and adjust the volume during this time nothing works (volume/radio controls) I can put in drive and it all works again. Just throwing in what I have seen so far.

Thanks for the response, yeah unfortunately mine does this in drive too, until I reset the system.

Welcome to our horrendous software. The bugs are normal and eventually a software "fix" will come out that'll cause different issues and the process repeats. I wouldn't bother worrying about it if it doesn't have frequently. You'll get a message to update the radio probably within the next couple of months that may address the issue.

3 soft resets needed on my '24 already due to uconnect 5 software freezing up...I guess we just live with it

Back in my day, when we needed to reboot the glitchy tablet stereo glued to the CJ dash, we'd have to remove the 8-track tape and get out of the damn Jeep to disconnect the negative battery terminal for 3 minutes. Well, at least that's what the lady at JeepCares suggested when I called her from the payphone. Said she learned that little trick by reading about it in the monthly Jeep newsletter. Was a helpful solution submitted by Greg5491 in Junction City, Wisconsin!
